Hi,

I'm from Sydney Australia.

I just purchased my ute a few months ago and now I'm about to do a full paint correction and detail.

Its a Ford BF XR8 Ute in Silhouette.

Here's my build thread from another site. Australian Ford Forums - Ford BF XR8 Ute "Magnet"

I have already purchased some products.

Here's a list,

CG Maxi Suds II
CG Citrus Wash & Gloss
CG Green Clean
CG Heavy Duty Degreaser
CG Wheel Wax
CG Wash Pads
CG Microfibre Rejuvenator Wash
CG Fast Dry Waffle Weave Towel
303 Aerospace Protectant
Einszett Gummi Pflege
Grit Guard
Wash Bucket and Lid to suit Grit Guard
Aquatouch Microfibre Applicator Pads
DAS-6 Dual Action Polishing Machine with CCS Pads and Menzerna Swirl Removers.
Clay Magic Kit
Mint AB Snow Foam Lance (Karcher)
Dodo Juice Lime Prime
Dodo Juice Purple Haze
STREAK FREE WINDOW CLEAN-TINT SAFE AMMONIA FREE RE-DILUTEABLE
Extreme Slick Synthetic -Polymer Detailer (Anti-Static)
FADE2BLACK-INSTANT SHINE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR SPRAY DRESSING
Glass & Window Waffle Weave -Streak Free Towel 45cm x 75cm
HUGE SUV SIZE FAST DRY WAFFLE WEAVE Microfiber Drying Towel 66cm x 89cm
ELITE DELUXE SUPER PREMIUM MICROBIFER MICRO-BANDED 8.75mm THICK SUPRA MICROFIBER TOWEL 40cm x 60cm (12 PACK) Yellow with black edges
NEW CAR SCENT -SMELLS LIKE YOU JUST BOUGHT IT FOREVER CONCENTRATED
WHEEL+RIM CLEANER ORANGE GEL (470 ml)
EXTREME METAL SHINE POLISH & PROTECTION (470 ml)
LEATHER CLEANER - PREMIUM CLEANER & PRE-CONDITIONER

I already know how hard black is to maintain.

I started with a foam wash of CG Maxi Suds in my foam lance. While that that was foaming I sprayed my wheels with CG WHEEL+RIM CLEANER ORANGE GEL. I then high pressure washed the whole vehicle.

I then mixed some Maxi Suds and CW&G and washed the whole car with a MF Mitt.
Then high pressure washed all the suds off, then I towel dried the whole car with a HUGE SUV SIZE FAST DRY WAFFLE WEAVE Microfiber Drying Towel, these towels are great I have a few of them.

Once the whole car was dry I drove it into my garage and started claying.

Then I tackled it with my DAS-6 Dual Action Polishing Machine.

First I used Menzerna Intensive Polish PO 91L on an orange Lake Country 6.5" polishing pad.

I then followed that with Menzerna Final Polish PO85U with a white Lake Country 6.5" polishing pad.

I went around the vehicle one more time with a black Lake Country 6.5" polishing pad and DoDo Juice Lime Prime.

Buy this stage the car was looking great, and I was very happy with my results.

I then apllied DoDo Juice Purple Haze by hand over the complete vehicle, once that hazed I removed it with an ELITE ULTRA-PLUSH SUPER PREMIUM MICROFIBRE CLOTH.

I then drove the vehicle back outside for a wash and was blown away by what I had achieved.

It basically took me all day to do the correction.

I really like the DoDo Juice products, I have just received DoDo Supernatural Wax & Supernatural Shampoo.

So this weekend after my weekly wash, I will try these products. I know I'll be impressed.
Here's a few pics of my beast...

Cheers

SIK car! i LOVE those. when i visited New Zealand earlier this month, i loved seeing those all over! good thing you have the 2dr!! nice!

The exhaust tips are a bit rusty in some of the pictures. I have just fitted a brand new polished stainless steel exhaust.

Awesome car mate. I'm an aussie myself. Also a member on AFF. Small world hey!

That's pretty heavy swirling. Did you manage to get rid of it all with the DAS-6. I also purchased one of these. Did 1 car and it frustrated the hell out of me. Ended up getting rid of it soon after and buying a Makita 9227CB rotary!

I do not understand why Ford cannot bring all those cool vehicles that they sell over there to the States. I am sure they would sell a bunch. They have great looks and feature great motors.

Don

Nice Job, what motor is in there. I want one, neat looking truck. And it comes wit hte 5.4L V8 DAM. Mini truck with big motor that would make a great drag truck

Yes I got most of it out. I'm a spray painter by trade.

5.4 L Boss 260 V8 260 kW (350 hp) 500 N·m (370 lb·ft)

It has been custom tuned and just had a stainless steel exhaust fitted, and a Cold Air Intake, nearly 290 kW now

Cheers

that motor in there is SICK!!!!

Great job - those utes are awesome rides. I wish they had them state-side.

The roof line with the matching curves in the roll bar is interesting...

Certainly a very interesting looking utility, kind of like a fresh upgrade of the classic Ford Ranchero... like tis one from 1960... part car, part truck... except the modern version looks good... :D

The paint was trashed... nice restoration...

I have always wondered the same thing, some of the European Ford cars look great. Ford has some what pulled their heads out of their butts with the new power plants being offered in the mustangs/f 150's. The car looks great with it's restored paint
