Your always a day lateGreat job, if that thing ever makes a re-appearance at your shop, lemme know. Id like to come by and check it out!
Your always a day late
I actually went to his house today. I just washed it for the first time cause it has been 2 months. He tracked it last week and has put a couple thousand miles on it since I had done it. It still is 100%.. We couldn't find any marring at all. Two tiny chips though..
He let me use his lift at his house which was nice.
We went over his friends shop/warehouse and he showed me his collection of RARE collectible cars. I think I might be doing all of them.Im the MANThere is atleast 50 so far.
Stop by Friday. I have a old Ferrari that needs ALOT of work. I will have it for atleast 7 days. I will be in pain. So much for easy jobs.
It's got hazing, crazing, glazing, ultra thin paint, orange peel, swirls galore, very deep scratches, severe water etching, water color stains, 20 year old wax in every crack and crevice, etc..... Oh ya it's black too...partial repaint... I can't think of one good point other than the nice bill.
Thanks for the nice comment and your welcome too! The color is beautiful and it does look like there is pearl in it. The flakes are very tiny.Nice work and pics turned out great for the reflections! I have never seen paint that perfect thanks for the thread! Looks like there is some pearl in that blue?? Blue metalic pearl??
It wasn't cheap, but the customer did not care and was after perfection and wanted his car to look perfect and wanted to be proud to show it off. He was so happy he had me do his Porsche too, which he has owned for 18 years and he said he has never seen his Porsche look theat good ever. I spent over 90 hours on both cars at $60 per hour. I taught him how to properly maintain them and wash them and he said that alone was worth the money. I did give him a discount cause he is well known and so far has got me a big exotic collection I am working on now.oh my goodness how much does a job like this cost?? looks absolutely amazing!
Thank You for the very nice comments! I am glad that you read everything and observed things very well. I have lots of passion for perfection. I really never chose to do this as a business, but it just kind of fell in my lap so to speak. I enjoyed doing this as a hobby on collectors cars back in the day and word travels fast and it just involved into a business. I look at paint different than most people do. I look at this as a work of art. My favorite customers are the ones who say they are extremely picky. I have very bad OCD with paint and it all has to get done in certain steps and to a very precise measure. I am so obsessed with paint correction that I am making myself go crazy. I also LOVE a challenge!Although you do this as a job, it's easy to see working on these great cars is more then just a paycheck for you. Accepting nothing but perfection is obviously something ingrained in your personality and is plain to see in the quality of your work. Thanks for taking the time to share your pictures with all of us, it is appreciated.
Thanks for the nice comments! Just work hard and focus on how things work. Train your eye to be the best and you will do great! Some people are happy cause things work, I am happy cause I know how they work and I know the limitations of certain products and paint.I completely agree.. I am a young detailer still aquiring much knowledge. I am just amazed of the skill, attention to detail, time, and patience involved in the paint correction on this GT as well as many others.
