Ford stumbles as GM and Chrysler gain

Mercury has been killed off for a while now. Ford is starting to Focus on Lincoln again and we will see some nice products coming from Lincoln.

The problem had been they had basically been selling upscale versions of their Ford brand....MKZ (Fusion), MKS (Taurus) plus the ancient Continental.

They will need to do what Cadillac did and create a very unique car. They could use upscale Fusions but maybe do that under Ford.

lincolns new mkz is beautiful but starts $6000 more. all the new cars are good looking ie the new " dodge dart"

All Lincolns are upscale Fords. In order to be sucessful, they have to be completly different then Ford . Pontiac, Saturn , and Olds went byby because they were the same as Chevys .At one time Pontiacs and Olds had different engines , tranmissons, and different bodys . Now there all the same , Chevy , Buick and Cadillac are all built the same . Years ago Chevys , Pontaic, and Buick used different paint then Buick and Cadillac, and Buick and Cadillac got more coats of paint.

I did my part....86k in new Ford product in my driveway in 2011. Kind of disgusting when you think about it
