I used forever black on a customer's ford explorer, the trim was very discolored. this vehicle was a perfect candidate because of its textured surface and amount of discoloration. everything was done according to directions and it looked great.

he has since come back to me very much let down with the job. the dye/paint is now coming off in spots and looks worse than ever before. i am truly embarrassed that i applied this product and there seems to be a lot of work ahead in removing it.

I fear that i have lost a great customer as a result.

BTW, any recommendations on removing this product? my task at hand is removing it and refunding his money. its a loss in my labor but a good faith effort.

will post pictures when i get to work on it.

Possibly an APC? Sorry to hear about this. For my vehicles I use Ultra Tire and Trim Plus. Slightly on high side but take VERY little for amazing results. Haven't reapplied anything to trim since last summer and still looks amazing

try some OPC at 3:1 and agitate, then if that doesn't work 2:1, then 1:1 then full

APC+ or Opt PC with some scrubbing pads............ I like Megs ASD and a few friends swear by Adams Super VRT.

I appreciate any and all help i can get. what is OPC? APC? I'm willing to try what i need but i'm not familiar with those products. Thanks again.

All is not hopeless. I doubt if apc or opc will remedy. Can't help much w/o pics. But you are speaking of dye?

it is called a dye on the label but went on more llike thin paint and seems to be on the surface rather than penetrate like a dye. i'm already embarrassed with the outcome and don't want to fail miserably when i try to remedy the problem.

If there is a buyhere lot in your town maybe you can get the cleanup man to give you some tips or a demonstration. My remedy is harsh, but can't advise w/o pics.
