Forum Member Ron S. visits Autogeek's Show Car Garage!
Last Friday, Ron aka Ron S on our forum stopped by Autogeek.net to pay us a visit, he and his wife were in the area and asked if they could stop by and we rolled out the red carpet. It was their 38th Wedding Anniversary!
Congratulations!
I asked Ron if he ever used the Flex 3401 and he said "no" only the Porter Cable 7424XP, so since I had the Flex out for some pictures for an article I let him try it out to get a feel for how it works as compared to a PC style DA Polisher.
In this shot the PC is actually running on the 6.0 Speed Setting and I'm holding the tool in the air by only holding the pad to show that it is NOT a direct drive polisher.
(Otherwise it would have torn my skin off)
Then I showed Ron how to grab the face of the pad on a Flex 3401 and turn it to feel the direct drive gears mesh together.
Then, after wiping the stainless steel counter top clean I demonstrated how to hold the tool flat for proper technique and how the tool will try to "walk" if you hold the pad at any angle making the tool self-teaching.

Ron asked for a picture together in our TV Studio which also doubles as our Show Car Garage for car detailing projects and detailing classes.
