PICS OR BAN SURFER!!! find her myspace or something...

Also, why can't you have a truck in your community? Do the people who do the lawns have trucks?? ;)
No pics, I might have one witha group of us but so many people you can barely make out those photos, sorry lol. As far as I know she doesn't have Myspace, I don't have Myspace, think I'm behind the times.

That's just our area. Almost every community in Boca is gated, nevermind the city is snob central. They don't want "Commercial" type vehicles at houses, stupid HOA's. That's all right, we always piss ours off for parking our trucks on the street:D. Same for rest of South FL and generally pry anywhere else that has gated communities. Landscaping etc can have their trucks durring the day, our neighbor owns a large landscaping company who happens to take care of most of the community as well, but come night time, can't have any of his trucks here which is why he has an suv and the pickups are kept at the warehouse or where his business is.

No diesel option, have a couple friends with them, most annoying road trip vehicle, large tank or not, 10 mpg on the highway sucks lol. Plus that has to be teh most pain in the ass vehicle to wash/take care of, no way I'd own one lol. Predator did turn out some badass Duramax swaps in them though, I called them about one for sale, but they wanted 120K+...yeh ok lol.

edit - nevermind misunderstood what you wrote. Thats just an HOA thing down here, no Commercial type vehicles allowed overnight, of which they consider pickups. My buddies lifted Cummins Ram used to piss them off so bad. So my friend left a note on the side of the truck one time, "Dare You to Tow Me" LOL. Best part is he's from KY aka pickup central, get's his brand new Cummins Ram, comes back down here for Junior year college, pulls into where he's renting and they won't let the truck in. Now for somebody to tell somebody from KY that pickups are not allowed is retarded sounding lol. They had another house in Ft Luaderdale but the cars there were for whatever family was in using the house, so they brought the Viper down and that's what he had to drive and leave the truck at the house.

hard life I know:D lol, he was like "damn, you mean I have to drive the Viper everyday, oh shucks" lol. When I met him freshman year, it was so funny, most people have Denali's or Lades lowered. He had his Denali jacked up on 38's, huge. Now that was a gas guzzler, think he got 5 mpg:p

LOL, I agree with Kelso... must be tough...

Hey a little OT, but how are tahoes/yukons on reliability? I think they look SWEET

Also, how come diesels aren't more popular?

Their fine IME, the new ones have an excellent interior, Especially when the interior is done up in black with the dark wood grain trim, sharp looking. I don't like the look of the new Lade though, to much chrome for me, if I had a black one, I'd take all that chrome off and have it anodized in black chrome.

Diesels, except for the heavy duty trucks and some cars recently, I think had a hard time with emissions. Simply put, Americans don't seem to have the demand for regular cars etc with diesels, however there is demand for suv's with one, Jeep just took advantage of this, and apparently GM has something in the works for 09' Tahoe/Suburban to have Duramax option, but just a rumor right now. Jag, BMW, Land Rover etc all have different diesel models in Europe, Ford even gives some of the trucks like the Ranger a diesel over seas, but we don't get any of them. BMW I believe I heard is going to start bringing over it's diesel engines.

the new 07 models look terrible to me. the escalade and all its sibling bodies are so bubbly it just does not look right to me, especially staring straight at the front end of one.ugly.

2008 Mercedes-Benz GL420 Bluetec diesel - Latest News, Auto Show Coverage, and Future Cars - Automobile Magazine

I think it's already out in Europe as I know people have taken delivery. If this comes to the U.S. I'm getting one. For years I've been asking for a mid-large size suv with a diesel. And the big 3 have let me down, what really sucks is in other markets they offer different engines, even the Ford Ranger has a diesel option in South America. Otherwise an Excursion would be my only choice but don't need something that large and need something a little more "comfy" if I'm with clients as down here people can just be prissy like that lol.

If GM had the Duramax in the new Tahoe or Suburban I'd be all over it. I love diesels, but can't have a pickup in my community, and my other two properties I rent out I can't either in case I were to move into one.

Diesels are perfect so effortless, the torque, the gas mileage, and Benz new Bluetec versions drive like gas engines. Old neighbor used to have a Powerstroke Excursion that ran high 12's, you wanna talk about bone crushing torque, I've been in cars way quicker then that truck that didn't crush you to the seat like it did, and he got 23-24 mpg on the highway in a 7K lb truck with that power. Good buddy of mine has a bad ass Cummins Ram, can go from Kentucky to the border of GA, fill up, and then make it all the way down to South FL, my truck can do that as well....just with a lot more fuel stops lol. And he was lifted in 35's, was so fun smoking cars (his was a 6 speed manual as well), they'd look over like "how the hell did that truck just whup me" lol. He ordered the new GMC 3500 HD model, interior is nice straight outta the new Suburban, should be a nice truck.
If you want a diesel, check out (at least test drive one) a VW Toareg V10 TDI. gets good gas mileage and gives you 553 ft/lbs of torque. Now that's a lot of torque. It also has air suspension, meaning you will always have smooth ride. So just check it out, test drive it and let us know what you think.

I had thought about it, but very hard to find, and the 04/05 models have way to many issues, 06' ones seem to be a lot better but I think they cancelled the diesel after 05'. They are comfy though, I just don't trust an 04/05 for daily driving, towing and trips etc.

i think even bmw is supposed to bring the diesals over soon, but i dont like their SUV's

BMW has some nice diesel offerings over seas. X5 Diesel would be cool, but I need something that can actually tow well, and even though the new X5 is a slittle larger, the old one felt tighter then my Mountaineer and had crap cargo space.

If there is a will, there is a way!

You gonna come tow me when it brakes down on me and I'm in GA :D

I think finding a car is a really hard thing to do...

Ya, but no fun when you pay that much and its in the shop all the time:D. I have a friend with an 05' and it has so many glitches it isn't funny but b/c of the way stuff happens he can't file lemon law. He's already been flatbedded a couple times since he owned it. Got it new in 05', I told him to not buy an 04/05 so thats what he gets, I warned him lol. And he bought new of which resale totally sucks, so he can't trade or anything right now w/o losing his ass.

Why oh why can't GM just stick their Duramax in their Taho/Yukon, or even the Denali :(

I like the Benz Surfer, but I do not like the smell of diesel fumes. Kerosene and diesel fumes stink to me.

I also like diesel vehicles. The R class has a diesel as well, it may not fit your needs though. I have heard good things about them. test drove a gas one, they didn't have a diesel in stock at the time.

ha guys i'm pretty sure he already bought something, this thread is 2 years old
