When you say "cd" are you referring to an actual cd? As in "compact disk"? Or is this some abbreviation for something else I'm not catching lol

Hey Matt:

Very kewl video!! You sold me on the towel; and you are better than that guy who sells those "SHAMWOW'S TOWELS" on late night TV !

Keep us all posted on any other great values you find (you are going to drive alot of the AG FORUM SENIORS CRAZY...LOL)

thanks again!

PS..BTW, where's the video of those towels drying a CD? J/K & LOL (you should of done one....it would of been hilarious!)

Yes. The CD test referred to is rubbing against a CD and looking for marring. BTW - Viva paper towels pass this test.

That's awesome...I'll be picking some of these up later this evening. Saves me the $27.99 for the 2 pack of guzzlers.

and you sir win a invisi-prize! this is why i don't trust a cd test to determine if something will scratch!...and to bacon i will keep posting the frugal detailing tools/accessories i find and do vid reviews of them!...never know what you may find while at a random store! if that is not a detailing addiction i don't know what is...LOL

I just got back from walmart lol Picked up 2 of them. They were 3.97ea but still worth it.

Speaking of deals, the scrub brushes you find in the detailing section is like 6 bucks. I found a lot of good deals on things like, brushes, sponges, brushes in other areas of walmart besides the detailing section.

I found a 2 pack of micro fiber dish sponges that I use for cleaning rims

In the hardware section I found A small hard bristle scrubber for 1.99. In the detail section its 4.

I use dish rags to wipe down the tires, got a 3 pack of them at the dollar store.

I use small sponges to apply trim restorer and I got a 10 pack at the dollar store as well. I just cut them up to apply to small bits of trim.

Also at the dollar store, spray bottles, I wouldn't recommend them. They're bad quality, don't spray well, and seem to unscrew too easily. you're better off paying an extra dollar for one at lowes. Same goes for their micro fiber towels. They come in a 3 pack, seems like a great deal, but they look thin and not very durable.

Things like detailing brushes, dusters, sponges, rags, tooth brushes, scrub brushes, I would try the dollar store first.

Not busting your balls but why are you so afraid of the cd test? I look at the test to see if a towel mars the CD. If so, that towel gets used for things other than paint. Now if a towel doesn't scratch a CD, I still proceed with caution when trying on paint.

So I agree with you that the CD test isn't fool proof but it IS a good first step indicator......

i already did a cd test did not photograph it was on first page in one of my replies.why dont i do the cd test is simple, a cd can be harder then softer paints, that and its polycarbonate not paint....test panels are more useful for me

that drying mat looks pretty good.

did you do the cd test on them?

I just tested it out on the car, seems to work better than my previous drying towel.. much better. Whatever wet surface I run it over, picks it up completely, no streaks. I don't however know how well it will do on a whole car yet, but I bought 2 so we'll see.

Do you have test panels that match the hardness of each paint system you are working on? Polycarbonate is for dummies!!!!!!!!

try it for your self,i already did cd test look on page 1(3rd time i've said this) I like them and will most likely be using them for my onr washes to blot dry, just dragged them in the video for experiments sake.to dr.olds no i do not have no such test panel like that, but with so many different paint systems even the softest towel you might have a chance to mar it when you use the towel, for those there is a thing called master blaster. i will have one in the future...

Looks like Opie has a new career path making sale's videos... lol...

By the way- I found another great Walmart deal. Meguiar's Gold Class 64oz car wash shampoo & conditioner for $4.00. I know, I'm killing the economy somehow by shopping there, but how can I pass up $4???

not a sales video at all.just sharing a good find..wasn't even going to take pics or video of how it worked but people asked....and your supporting economy meguiars is a usa made product ;) i just randomly buy stuff i could use for detailing and try to share the good finds i come across :)

I've noticed that when I first get my WW towels they work amazing but loose their water sucking ability over time :(
