No not so far on my two black cars. It is all I use. But anything is possible, even with a foam plus 2 bucket method. Try it on a small panel on a daily driver and if there are no new swirls try it on more valuable cars. If a car has tar, sap or caked on mud you would be safer using a more conventional method.

Looks easy and interesting especially on the Meguiars wash mitt to replace microfiber for waterless.

I've used 2 bottles of the new mothers wash and wax, and I guess that was my only concern. Where is the dirt going that isn't able to be washed off from pressure washing prior?

It sounds like you have a good process that is working for you, so thank you for sharing it with others.

That being said, I've done over 1,000 rinseless washes in my career and see all of that as pretty big over kill. Wash bucket with 3 gallons of water and grit guard, 380 GSM towels(3-4 depending on the size of the vehicle) and ONR With Wax. Done in 15 minutes.

But as I said, if that is working for you bravo!

•Taking the use of D114 for bird bombs,
etc., out of your RW's process...

-You're only using water as the sole liquid
for your RW's cleaning-solution?

I presumed his bucket is full of D114 solution--but now that you mention it, he doesn't seem to specifically say that--but it's gotta be, right?

Goes to show, everybody's got their own way of doing it. You gotta go with what you know. Just so long as you're not grinding dirt into the paint.
 
I read it that he just uses water because as he says it clings to the paint instead of 114 running down and he only uses 114 for bugs
 
Oh . Yeah hes gotta be using some kind of product. If he isn't, I'd like to see the car in person to believe theres no scratches

Oh man my method is way overkill.
1. Presoak with regular ONR at QD dilution
2. 2 gallons of ONRWW solution. 12 edgeless plush MF towels. GD method.
3. I wash the whole car I don't dry at all yet to prevent cross contamination of my drying towels.
4. Presoak again with ONRWW at QD dilution and spritz a little OCW on top.
5. Gently wipe away and buff with 530 GSM MF. 10 in total.
6. Do wheels and door jambs with cheap Costco MF and leftover ONRWW solution. Sometimes presoak wheels with Optimum-Clean if very dirty.
7. Clean glass with Invisible Glass and clean surgical towels.

I know it's crazy and it takes me like 2 hours but I'm just a hobbyist and this method has kept the marring down to almost nil. The notoriously soft Shadowline black trim on my BMW is still pristine so I am confident in my technique.

I use about 1-1/2 qts of water (distilled water even better) in the bucket with the towels. The MF towels soak all of the water up. I actualy squeeze most the water out the MF towels before using them. So no D114 in the bucket. I was surpriised how good just plain old water is. Originally I did put D114 diluted 128:1 in the bucket but I found that plain water works fine. That is the fun of this just trying and comparing different products and different techniques. Starting on a small panel before using it on the entire car.
 
Am I reading the steps correctly? You are washing the car with plain water only and not using a Rinseless Wash product?
 
Just an FYI...when dealing with tar or those black stringy like marks that get onto the rocker panel that usually fly off the wheel, I use a paint prep spray. This is like using an IPA. It kills tar in one wipe. Final Kleen is good stuff. Paint thinner too.
