Some of the stuff that is listed as free samples is not showing up in the drop down boxes. Out of stock maybe?

i noticed that too, some stuff is in one drop down and not the other as well. i would think if you put something in the comment box they would take care of it.

I made a thread about this last week or the week before. What I noticed about the 2 lists was 1. The products are in different orders and 2. Liquid Souveran and Wolfgang DGPS are on one list but not the other.

I chose Wolfgang DGPS for first option, something random as 2nd option, but then left a comment with the 2 samples I wanted. They'll take care of it!

I haven't checked the lists in a while, but that's what I noticed 2 weeks ago..

That's not the problem I'm talking about.

They ran out of stock for one of the samples I selected, even though it was available according to their system when I ordered. Instead they just tossed in a random sample of something else that I had no interest in instead of taking the time to contact me, letting me know, and allowing me to pick an alternative. :(

Same, wanted to try out PB trim restorer, thought if it was out of stock they would pick another trim product but sent some leather/vinyl protectant...oh well...not worth the time to call up and what not.

From time to time some of our vendors do not have sample sizes in stock when we order so we might have to briefly take down samples if they are not available to us. As soon as they are available again then they will go back up.

yeah, that's fine and understandable, but if the item the buyer specifies is out of stock, then should have made a small effort to contact the buyer to let them know and let him pick an alternative. Otherwise, it's kind of bait-n-switch-esque.

It's a FREE sample!!! (Nothing at all like a bait and switch)!!! I for one am very happy to recieve not only one FREE sample, but two FREE samples when I make a purchase. AG does not have to give any FREE samples, but they do. I think it is very generous and I realize that the folks at AG are very busy, therefore I hope they don't stop doing it because a few people complain, and it becomes to much of a problem for them to want to deal with.

i agree, same with the BOGO's and VIP's. i think it's fine to post about not needing/wanting anything on the lists but to complain about the selections. AG does a fine job, keep it up!:props:

Ok, look let me make my point clear before you continue ultra fanboy mode. I have nothing against AG. I order from them and will continue ordering from them, but I will also order from somewhere else when there is a better deal or promo. Free market. Now this free sample promo was a marketing tool used to sway buyers like me to purchase from them and not their competitors. It wasn't some act of charity, it was business. I buy something from them and I get free sample. Great marketing and it worked as I made a purchase through AG instead of taking advantage of some other promos from their competitors. Someone mentioned bogo. This is another marketing tool. Would you feel upset if you bought one item expecting a duplicate, but instead got something else that you didn't need? By your argument, it's free duplicate so should just take it? You wouldn't contact AG and tell them they sent you the wrong duplicate? Really?

Look, it was a small thing to me as I at least got one of my requested items, but I was hoping to get the other to do a comparison test to help me determine quick product to buy I'm the future. Those plans are now scrapped. No biggie really, but would have just appreciated more communication.

No, I said NOTHING about BOGO items. Comparing FREE samples and BOGO items is kind of like comparing apples and oranges. One you pay for, and one you recieve free . I can safely say that if you order a BOGO item, you will get 2 of the items you ordered. If out of stock you will be notified! My post was in reference to your comments about FREE samples, being as you termed it a "bait and switch". I disagree that this is even close to a "bait and switch". You stated in your post that it was "No biggie", but yet you posted a comment accusing AG of a devious practice of "bait and switch". I have done business with AG for a long time and I can assure you that this is not even close to the case. I stand by my previous post. Remember that no business has to offer any discounts or freebies. I for one am more than happy with the high level of service and thought that AG puts into supplying quality products and a great price. Sure I price shop, and some of the things I can buy locally, I do. I also price shop online, and I will tell you most all of my detailing stuff I purchase from AG. (I like to deal with a company I trust and goes out of their way to offer such great customer service). If I find a competitor having a sale on an item I want, I just let AG know and they match the competitor's price!! I purchase many things online and have dealt with MANY companies (both web and local) and I feel that AG is one of the best (i.e. customer service, go out of their way to make me happy), honest, and up standing companies I have ever dealt with. Sorry I took it a little bit personal, (but when I have had nothing but the very best satisfacton dealing with AG) when I read your comment about a "bait and switch", which to me is something that a devious, under handed company would do... Definitely not AG!! Also, I would suggest that you call AG and convey your concerns about not getting the sample you wanted. I would be willing to bet that you would recieve satisfaction.

Deep breath dude. lol. First off, I never said you mentioned BOGO, I said someone (obviously the guy above me). And it's not comparing apples to oranges. It's maybe comparing red apples and green apples. Lets see. Buy an item, get samples FREE vs Buy an item, get one FREE. Either way, you're getting something free from buying something first. Strip away the actual type of item and look at the mechanism and you'll see the similarities.

I have no problems with AG and like I said, I've bought from them and I will continue to buy from them, but lets not be blind also :xyxthumbs:

You are correct that "snowking" mentioned BOGO, but not in the context that you did. He was agreeing that there was no need to complain.

Yes, lets not be blind. Instead of posting derogatory comments, like the term "bait and switch", contact AG and tell them you would really like to try X sample, and I'm sure they will send it to you when it comes back in stock (I'll even do you one better, I am almost sure that I have what ever product you are interested in trying. PM me what you want to try and I'll send you a sample):props:

My dissapointment is that when I placed an order recently I forgot to request my free samples. In that order they sent me the wrong item & had to send me a replacement item at which time I requested the free samples I had originally forgot. I did not receive the samples or an explanation or why!!! I notice many of you praise AG for their superior service. I believe they offer the same service as any other reputable company. They try to make things right. Sometimes things get fixed, sometimes they slip through the cracks. Still doing business here, just my .02c

thanks darkhorse, i was comparing the complaints i've read for these different types of DEALS and not the deals themselves. i recently placed an order and received a different sample than requested and it turned out i really enjoyed it,so in my case it worked out.

How about posting a 3rd choice in your order's comment box, in case your 1st or 2nd choice is out of stock at the time of packing?

wouldn't it be easier if AG just took the time to email the consumer and let them know that they were out of that item?

I agree with both Tad and aznwhip. AG has superior customer service, they really take the time to go the extra mile. I also forgot to include a sample on my second order. And they included another set on my 3rd order so i can try out the products i want. And yes, BOGO, VIPs, and free samples are marketing tools to entice customers to make a purchase. But the free samples are more of out of both, generosity of the management of AG and for trial purposes of the product chosen.

The bottom line is...we all love AG. Let's not get into a word war over something we merely have a difference of opinions on, let's just respect each and everyone's opinion. As i always say, "chill"! :) And besides, this is supposed to be a place to learn, make friends and share ideas and experiences in a positive environment.

Cheers!
