There's RARE, then there's R A R E! This right here, incase you don't know, is a Porsche 959, a car I've never seen inperson and now it's off of my "bucket list". These cars were engineered to compete in Groupe B rally but when it was cancelled in 1986 due to a series of tragic deaths, it had no use...except it did, Dakar Rallye and then...street version made, the 959!

Car was exotic for its time, full-time AWD, 6 spd, TPMS sensors and 450 hp (930 Turbo made 286, think about that️) and something Scott will appreciate, a top speed of 199 mph

Yes, this car will appear in this post alone, as it should but more to come, stay "tuned"

I love the Porsche 959, I remember when it first came out, I bought a magazine that compared it to the top Ferrari of the time, full tech specs, cutaway drawings. It was my teenage dream car. I can't even remember what model Ferrari it was compared to, I just had no interest in it. The closest I've come to the real thing, a hot wheels one.

I like that W123 Merc.

They (Merc) officially admitted for that engine to be the most durable Merc engine ever made, and I was personally driven in 2 different cabs, each having over 1 million Kms on the clock.

Extraordinary indeed.

The Ferrari your talking about is the F40, I've seen 2 of them inperson and they're smaller than you think. I didn't like the F40 until I saw it inperson, incredible car

That 959 is amazing! While I really like seeing the exotics like the Lambo's, its the rare stuff like the 959 and the Alfa's that really catch my attention. I wouldn't want to own or drive one, but love looking at them!

Very jealous. We never seem to see some of the really rare stuff at our events like you do. I have a feeling they are out there, because every once in a while I'll see something that gives you a hint people have some good stuff in their collections, but they simply never see the light of day.

I'm much more into rarities, supercars seem to have a negative attitude, DB's abound

And again a great lineup! Day looked great too!

That yoda with the V8 swap was super sano!!! Loved it.

Glad you got to cross the 959 off your list! Very cool cars and still very 'relevant' and modern for it's age.

Liked seeing the Alfa's. Really like them.

Some super quality stuff there, thank you for sharing!

I had to look up perf numbers of the 959...0-60 in 3.9 seconds, 1/4 mile 11.9 and top speed of 199 mph for the "regular" one, the "S" went 211 mph. A 1990 Corvette ZR1 would run the 1/4 mile around 12.7, 1.2 seconds faster in the 959, that's an eternity at the track and again, base 959!
