I am.taking there advice but whats logical to me is where im.from noone is paying 5oo period so its either make 25o or zero. This post was good because I learned aio products, and let me ask u how long does it take you to just compound a car ? One step ?I have to agree with ASG912.
Not if done properly, sorry but he's right. I did a Chevy 2500 HD, washed then one step correction with FG 400, then WG 3.0 Sealant. No clay, no decontamination, no wheels as they were corroded, no interior. That took me 8 hours with my Rupes 15, no lunch break and I busted my butt. It was a friend and I charged him $250.00 for that and he got a deal.
Also, you asked if you weren't charging enough and all these skilled detailers shared with you that you're not but you seem to want to give away your services? You stated you want to make money, giving away your services for less than worth is not the most logical way to make money. Also, your customers will expect that level of service each time and when the day comes you try to raise your prices, well that won't go over well.
One thing I can share with you, it's been my experience you can spend and waste a lot of time trying to educate the average person and in the end they really don't care. Like one of the guys said, they'll take it right up to the local car wash the following week and all that work will be gone.
This was the one step with FG400 / Orange LC Flat Pads / WG 3.0 Sealant
And trust me, this is a hunting truck, the scratches and oxidation on this thing were severe.
If you don't have some Menzerna FG400 get some.
Blackfire Total Polsih and Seal is also a great AIO. Follow that with a quick topping of BFWD and you have a great two step and a happy customer.
swirl free with ons step FG 400!!!

I am from new york too. I understand what you are saying that nobody is going to fork over 500 for a detail. You just have to cut out some of your steps. Just keep it simple. Hey, Joe, if you can do all that in 6 hours, I'll pay you to do two of my cars, and I'll by your round trip plane ticket to GA, and I'll buy you lunch, and I'll throw in a few beers!. I'd still come out at less than half of what some of these guys charge for one car. $1400??
Let me know when you're available. lol

compound using fg400 which can finish down nice and wax. No need to glaze and use sealant and then wax. 250 for that is a bargin and gives you a days work. The end result is your customer will love it. If you worked harder to do a sealant and glaze they would never be able to see the difference. you can clean and dress tires and vacuum but any other additional interior should be extra.
i said in a day , if oyu cant finish one car in around 8 hours your a lazy bum and got no balls, answer this how long does it take you to compound a car just one step ??
yea thats what im going to do, some these people crazy talking 1400 dollars yea try that hear youl get laughed at and your face compounded lol
I'd be interested to see how a full two step, full exterior and interior, sealed and waxed, with a 80-90% correction in less than 8 hours by one person.
I wonder how guys like Phil at Detailer's Domain and Larry at AMMO do it...
for most cars depending on condition my flow would be
1) wash
2) clay
3) compound if needed
4) polish
5) glaze
6) sealent
7) wax
8) clean and dress wheels
9) wash and polish windows and headlights plus pillars
10) clean all jams
interior
1) vacuum
2) steam and shampoo carpets and seats plus steam headliner
3) clean/protect interior (dash/doors ect)
usually charge $250 . am i getting ripped off ? lol i live in newyork most work comes from longisland , dont use cheap products, chemical guys, wolfgang, griots, rupes polisher, dupray steam
That's a DAMN Good price, I would charge over $400-$500 for all of that, just because of how many steps you are using and the amount of time spent on paint correction and other services which are usually up sold like a headlight restoration.
