My objective for this test was to see how these 2 products compared against that amazing Never Wet video where they pour chocolate on a white running shoe and it just pours right off. If you haven't seen the video, here is a version of it:

Here then is my testing on 2 white running shoes using water, chocolate and motor oil. You can see how they did compared to the Never Wet...
(To give you a hint on how they do, I was all prepared to title this review "Never Wet-Eat Your Heart Out"...you can see I didn't name it that...)

I want to clarify how I left off my original post above. When you judge the performance of Never Wet by the video alone, you think it must be the cat's pyjamas. However, dig a little deeper and it seems there are some issues with NW. It is being sold by Rustoleum in Home Depot stores. There are around 150 or so reviews on it so far. I expected them to be 5 star. They're not. It seems the NW won't last b/c it gets broken down by UV rays. DG 341 does not, nor does the CQ product from what I can tell.

The other complaints are that NW turns the surface a milky white colour, so you need to be very careful about what you're putting it on. The last complaint is that it has a sticky tactile feel to it. I did read where NW is working right now to correct the milky white issue. IMO it also needs to stand up to UV rays.

In summary, even though the NW looks impressive at the beginning, it is not all that it's cracked up to be.

Cool video. Can 341 be used on carpets and cloth seats in the interior?

where are you finding the dg 341 I am having trouble locating it?
Well, at the moment, AG doesn't sell it. Perhaps if enough people request it then they will. So, for the time being, you can get it directly from DG themselves here.

Cloth seats, absolutely. As far as the carpeting goes, you'd have to spray it on to apply it. You need to be very careful spraying it. Wear a mask when you do. It's powerful stuff and can make you cough.

Old thread, but have you tried 303 Fabric Guard or RaggTopp Fabric Convertible Top Protectant?

I was wondering how they compare in terms of initial water repellency + overall durability.. The DG 341 looks like a good product - was wondering if I should buy that next after I run out of my current supply of 303 and RaggTopp products?!

Thanks.
