I've searched and have not found a definate answer. For those of you out there with a G110 and 4 inch pads, approximately how long does it take you to complete one complete polish (I will be using Menzerna SIP) pass on your mid-size vehicle?

Why would you use 4" pads for big spots? Those are generally used for spot polishing. Use 5.5" pads for everything else.

I was just wondering because my bro asked me if I could detail his car once I do mine, but his car has a lot more swirls and I thought a 4 inch pad would penetrate swirls a lot better than a 5.5 inch. I still have a lot to learn. haha

I use the 4" pads all the time for spot work and tight areas. I would use the 5 1/2" if you have them for overall work as said. As far as time, I could only quess. The small pads work faster but in a smaller area.

The time it takes depends on a lot like skill level, weather, etc. But yeah man, take your time and use the 5.5" pads.

There is nothing wrong with just using the 4 inch pads to do a vehicle, they will actually correct a little better than the 5 inch pads. Sip will probably take you a couple of minutes to break down, a little longer if it is cooler out. It isn't going to take that much longer if any between the two sizes.

Just get a rotary and see the results. I ageed with ASPHALT on what he said, but this old fart would not make it anymore using a PC with 4 in pads during a full vehicle. I only use a rotary to do my detail's..............................
