joe would definitely would be a good testbed and would give the tools a good workout for sure. also, it will be interesting to see/hear more about KB's area 805 top secret testing. i'm still un-decided on what D/A i'll be purchasing next, but there are plenty of good choices these days. if i don't like the griots, i can always send it back...

Yes, he should be. not just because of experience and being one that could put them through paces, but also because he is (at least that's my perception) honest straight forward shooter that says things as he sees them so I feel he is unlikely to post anything biased.

As of now I don't see anything in that thread that provides more info than what is already known from marketing materials. Also I don't see Griot's V2 being part of it.

Actually there is one line in that post that raises an alert in me. It says:

"... feedback circuit ... is responsible for delivering improved random rotation. This is especially true when the machine is put under an increased load due to panel shape, increased friction, ...".

Why it raises it? Because feedback circuitry does not have intelligence of human. In other words, "old PC" bogging down in certain situations was sometimes a life saver for me, an unintentional "safety feature" if you will, thus I like it, and in such situations I don't want something that applies gas, I might end up with damage where it might have been avoided (call me clumsy but I am just a human, humans make mistakes, me first, so I like something that sometimes saves me from myself).

Of course my concern might be completely unfounded due to no hands on experience with it, especially not long term one, only long time use in the field by many owners can tell whether there is any con to it.
 
Over a year later and.................

I now have three G110V2 !!! They ROCK. When combined with Meguiars new MF system they are out of this world!

The first thing I had to do was to get use to the weight and power as compared to the Porter Cable/G100 I've used (and still do) for years.

They are tough machines (we call them "BEEFY") and we do many paint corrections with it ONLY.

Two are in my detail rig and get used daily. One is a back up. I have always had back up PCs, buffer etc.... so don't think I have a back up because I don't trust them.

If you get one toss the bail handle in the trash as it is in the way and doesn't improve the performance of the machine at all.

The only problem I have had is I had to replace the cord on one machine. I have lots of power tools and keep a supply of replacement cords. The repair took me about 10 minutes. Other than that it has performed flawlessly. :buffing:
 
I like the feel and build quality of my G110V2 but can't seen to get a good technique figured out with it to keep the pad spinning. I always end up grabbing the rotary.By the way, I love your signature. I've thought that many times.:xyxthumbs:
 
Most of the time I use a rotary for heavy paint correction. The G110v2 comes out for light or moderate correction. As a business owner I like the G110v2 because the learning curve is short. I can have a new employee polishing away with it quickly and relatively risk free.
 
Yeah, I may be hiring my first employee in the next year or 2 the way things are growing so I better have a G110V2 handy.

I happen to need to replace the cord , i bought a 14 cord but what kind of contacts are those in the end of the cord that carries the white and black cable do you know, so i can buy them off ebay?? thanks

I cut them off the old cord and soldered them onto my new cord. If I wanted new ones I'd probably check radio shack.
 
UPDATE: It has been two years now since I received my G110v2. To date, the only issue I have had were the bad cords. Not a glitch since!

They are reliable minus the cord issue which has affected a large percentage. In fact, rumor is that it got so bad that Meguiars "pulled the plug" temporarily (pun intended) to work out the gremlins.
