This is a little premature, but over this long weekend I have the opportunity to detail my co-worker's roommate's gramma's car (LOL).

This all started yesterday evening when I received a call from Brittany, my co-worker, who was in a mild panic because her roommate, who apparently uses this car was having an issue with a LOT of water in the passenger rear seat / floor area and wondered if I could help. Since I'm a nice guy, I accepted, and the car was delivered late yesterday evening.

I proceeded to suck a LOT of water from this area with my little green machine to get ahead of things a little.

Had to work today, but upon return home I got to inspect the car. It's a disaster (Sorry, Brittany's roommate - Maria, I believe - just in case you guys read this).

SO, since Maria is outta town I have a few days to go a little nuts on this poor car. It's an older model with pearl white paint. Interesting.

I cannot wait to see some before and after pictures. You may also want to look into the source of the water. If it is unknown you may want to look under the car in the area of the rear floorboard. Some GM cars have a rubber plug in that area that can become dislodged leading to water in the floorboard.
 
Good luck, and don't forget to take pictures. If you can't find the source of the leak, you can drill a small hole for a drain.
 
I definitely will be putting up pictures!

I also should have explained that the apparent source of the water was the major rains here in Florida lately, and an unfortunate drive through some standing water and another car driving by when the door was open, unloading some stuff. That's about all I can piece together.

Anyway, more to come!

My best guess is the sunroof drain plugs (if equipped) and if that isn't the case check the moldings around the windshield.

Excited to see some before and afters.

I got an early start today and decided to focus first on the interior, since the only thing I was asked to do was suck some water out of the rear passenger floor area. Of course I can't help myself and spent about 4 hours on the interior this morning - things are improving - still not 100% happy but getting there!

Ok, so you get the general idea. Things were a bit of a mess but maybe not as bad as I originally thought.

So, I did a good vacuum and started with about a 1:3 mix of Pinnacle Signature APC (good stuff) on the interior surfaces.

The seats were pretty dirty - so I used a DA brush for starters (this is a Cyclo grey ultra soft brush):

Dye transfer on the passenger seat:

Then I proceeded to steam the seats with my mytee steamer. 50-50 of the passenger seat - most but not all of the dye transfer removed:

So, some time and steaming / brushing / further vacuuming later, things are looking considerably better. Here's the area that was completely soaked with water:

After about 7 hours on the exterior today, here goes...

So I gave the car a good wash and then Ironx:

From there, I did some test spots and landed on just doing kind of an AIO thing with M205 on an orange LC pad with my Griot's DA. All in all, the car looks much better. The paint is a pretty cool color, actually and is much improved.

My photo-documentation skills need some work so sorry for the not so fantastic pictures. I'm pleased with the results - hopefully this will be a nice surprise for the owner since I really was just asked to remove water from the passenger rear. I just couldn't let the car suffer anymore....:props::props:;):cool:

After the polish, I used CarPro Eraser to finish it up and then put on a coat of Colonite 845 - since I believe this car lives outside, I thought it would at least offer some good protection.

Anyway, a fun project for me and kept me busy for sure over the past couple of days.

Now I need to get on my car tomorrow!

Thanks Dad07 - definitely some work but I'm excited to see the reaction when the car gets picked up later today.
