Both drivers and passengers airbag needs to be replaced on Hidalgo. I'll be dropping the car off tomorrow am. Looks like for the passenger airbag, the entire dash has to come out.

I already met with the service manager and showed him the vehicle last week. We talked for about 30 minutes and he went over the entire car observing there wasn't a scratch on it. He said he doesn't want this car in his shop longer than it has to be and will ensure he puts his best guys on it. I'm definitely nervous, but it has loads of CQUK and Reload... So even if it comes back marred, nothing I can't dispatch quickly.

I got my "DO NOT WASH" signs already made. When the car comes back, we're going to do a light polish, reapply CQUK 3.0 and then send it off to Wills & Dani for a full frontal of Suntek Ultra. Yay!!! :)

Then on Thursday, Silver Bullitt is getting the Ford Performance ProCal Tune, GT 350 Airbox and Magnaflow Competition Cat-back exhaust installed at the same dealership. I already spoke to those guys and they said it's a cake walk for them. They do Roush Stage 1, 2 & 3 builds... @ Sizzlechest - "ProCal is like runway, it's old hat baby!"

Wish me luck!!!

Yikes & Gadzooks!!

But, the smart thing to do was what you already did, Paul. (Of course). Document the pristine state of the Stang.

I'm sure rooting for you, my brother..............

My Focus RS goes in next week for the "head gasket recall" so I know exactly your sentiment. It is 15 months old and has 1672 miles on it including about 20 track miles. The paint is flawless and I was concerned about the recall because I've done quite a bit of tuning to the engine but they said it wasn't an issue for this recall. They told me they don't wash cars, even ones that are there for extended periods of time.

I'm bringing my wife's vehicle in on Friday for hopefully a same day turn around. I plan on plastering it with DO NOT WASH or CLEAN in ANY WAY postings on her and inside. I'll be livid if they do.

Yeah at some point you have to draw a line, airbags that explode shrapnel into your face and head, or the potential of some marring in the coating. Priorities!

The only thing that they have to do under the hood is remove the battery cables. The rest is on the interior.

For the passenger airbag, the entire dash has to come out.

Like I said, priorities... I’d rather be polishing paint than end up blind with shrapnel in me or my wife’s face.

Good luck! Whenever possible I make sure my car is pristine when I have to get it serviced so whoever works on it is aware of the attention to detail. Then I do a quick walkaround video at the location and leave the dash cam running.

As soon as I got home, I got a phone call saying the car was done.

Hats off the the Service manager, he told his team, he wanted this car bumped to the head of the line, done quickly and off the lot. He specified, do not wash on three different pieces of paperwork, and he added "Be very careful with the vehicle, per <service managers name>" Then they parked it in a handicap spot with blank spaces on either side.

It's home safe and sound back in the garage... No issues! I think it's important to establish a relationship with your service manager a week or so before you drop a vehicle off and let the guys / gals get to know you.

mustang #2 goes into their shop tomorrow... but it's going to the Special Ops guys, different team different building. It's where they do all the Ford Performance and Roush mods! :)

Thanks all!
