Hey Autogeek nation!

I am getting a new trailer and about to equip it with power, water, and everything else to be 100% mobile. I am looking at the Honda EU2000 generator to work with on my rig. I was wondering if yall think it would be enough to power an electric pressure washer, 2 flex polishers, and a shop vac. Not all at once, but would any of these things be too much for 2000w generator?

Feed back please

TIA!

A Flex has a 10 amp motor meaning it can consume 1200 watts at full load. I assume you mention the two polishers with the intent of using both at the same time in which case that generator would be too small. If you were to only use one item at a time, you'd be fine. That is a great generator though.

Interested in this information as well. I have looked at the 3000 watt model. I want to run a steamer & a hot water extractor (obviously not at the same time).

From what I've been told its the voltage X amps = watts needed

Did some more research and did some wattage usage for some of the equipment I will be using. I have decided that 2000 will not be enough for what I will be doing. Leaning more towards the 3000 unit now. Read other mobile unit build write-ups that ~3500watt generators are plenty so 3000 I feel comfortable with...

Have you considered adding a second alternator to your vehicle and a deep charge battery and power your stuff using a 12V to 120V converter? I think it would cost about the same as a big generator without the insane noise and extra room needed.

For my mobile operation, I purchased the Honda EU3000 Handi (Honda EU3000i Handi Super Quiet Generator? 3000 Watt Inverter Generator). I am very satisfied.

The generator is very quiet. It is also light weight and has a handle, making it easy to lift and move around.

I have not had any concerns with power and have been able to run a Porter Cable 7424XP (500 watts), Metro Vacuum (1350 watts), Mytee HP60 (1200 watts - uses more watts with the heater and pump running at the same time), and Optima Steamer (300 watts). I have had the Metro Vacuum and Mytee running at the same time without any power problems.

I have had the Mytee HP60 and the Optima Steamer both running at the same time without any problems. You are right though in that you will need to look at the watts for both your hot water extractor and the steamer (especially of your steamer if fully electric).

Really good to know:props: I want to get this generator and have some the same equipment. If you dont mind me asking how much was the optima steamer and what do you think of it?

6K and I like it a lot. There is no mess on the ground when washing a car. I do not get wet using steam, which is a big plus. The steam is hot, so I need to wear gloves so I do not burn myself (it hurts). So far, the maintenance seems easy. It is fuel efficient.

It does wonders on the interior, and using steam cuts down on the use of any chemicals and detergents, which is a biggie for customers that want the inside of their vehicle smelling fresh and clean. It also pays for itself because it cuts down on the time I need to spend cleaning a car. Using steam is an excellent marketing tool.

Sometimes though I think that the people that designed it are not the ones who use it. I think the design of the steam outlets and control panel is "bass ackwards."

When an extractor, a steamer and a shop vacation are all being used at peak watts it causes my 4000 peak watts generator to stall sometimes. Just keep in mind that heating elements will peak at about 1600 watts on most steamers and extractors. So having over 3200 continuous watts available Maybe necessary and over 4000 peak watts would be very helpful and safer for your equipment, overall.

I think the Optima is a nice machine. I haven't used one myself but I've watched a few videos on it. A bit pricey but its a heavy duty steamer and can clean an entire vehicle faster. I still spent $1K on my steamer. I like using steam alot, its my favorite piece of equipment. Maybe in the future I'll pick up an optima.

:Picture:how is that optima steamer and is it for interior or exterior cleaning or both?

Considering running an electric pw off a generator for my mobile setup. Honda states that an electric pw will require 3-times the wattage for startup. So, a 13 amp pw that requires 1500 watts continuous will need 4500 watts for startup? I'm looking at the Karcher k5.740... 13 amps. Will I seriously need a generator capable of 4500 watts max surge?

I have a HONDA EU 2000i new (still in box) was looking at KRANZLE K1622 at another vender and was told i need a larger generator to power the KRANZLE k 1622 If I made the purchase, I just spent over $1000. this winter on the HONDA EU 2000i, I was hope on getting the KRANZLE and using it solo to HONDA but lost as well now. I may just purchase a gas pressure washer (for the moment (too much noise) feed with shurflo pump (have already) and call it a day until I can purchase another HONDA EU 2000i to couple to the one I have new or just upgrade when able to EU 3000i if that take returns

That is odd. I don't think that is true. If it were would you not short the breaker everytime you turned that thing on? If it's 13 amps at 110 volt, in order for it to require 4500 watts, the amp requirement or the voltage requirement has to tripple. I don't see how that can be possible.

There is no way it will require 330 volt or 39 amps at startup.

Interesting, I have the same pw. I'm purchasing a shurflo on-demand pump, and have this generator: Powerhorse Portable Generator — 4000 Surge Watts, 3100 Rated Watts | Portable Generators| Northern Tool + Equipment

So far, I've operated the shop vac, DA polisher, and steamer without a problem. Planning to power a shurflo 115v on-demand pump with a power cord and the greenworks pw. I'll let you know how it goes. Just trying to postpone purchasing a gas pw if I can...

great same boat trying not to purchase a gas PW for noise reasons, but you have a generator designed for over 2000 watts, even thought I would only be powering one tool at a time with the exception of Shurflo 115v and the KARCHER that I currently have until I can purchase a KRANZLE to do away with the 115v Shurflo on demand pump.
