Show him the felt ring 'lube thing', it's not mandatory but is interesting to know about and do it.

It's also a way for him to get the feel for disassembling and reassembling the tool prior using it, the backing plate generally won't come all way tight in the box so it's good to fit it properly.
The handle (lateral) screws generally also come somewhat ~loose, position the handle and tight it properly as well for firm grip.
For sure it would be properly done, but it never hurts to remember the basics!
