Getting business starting out

I know word of mouth works wonders but i moved from a small town to a big city 1 year ago for college, I have no family here and just my few friends from school does anyone have any good advice for getting some business coming in ?

There is so much info on this forum you have to read. In other threads of yours people made awesome suggestions, such as mike and renny's books. a little trick I use is google. then type your (question) site:autogeekonline.net and you will find just about everything you need early on question wise.
