Getting mold smell out of leather seats

I tried ozone machine, then steam cleaned the hell out of all crevice, and used so2pure on a bmw x3. Smells good till now from the client with no more musty smell coming back

You can alway try GTechniq l2 Tri-Clean. It suppose to kill 99.9% of bacteria and absorbs ordor and is safe to use on leather.

Hate to say it but I think you tried everything.

Seems like you tried everything. Stop wasting time/money and move on with another!

So new "intelligence" has arrived: seems that the leather covers are attacked by spores, that have penetrated deep inside the leather fibers. i think using Leatherique actually fed the spores with water, as Leatherique also hydrates. Bumped into an Australian product called Leather Therapy, they say they are specialists in killing mildew deeply rooted in leather. anybody has experienced this product? It's the last chance before throwing away the leathers and stitching new ones...Any other kind of tips in trying to save this leather? even heard that putting it in a freezer works, as cold kills the spores...

thank you

I haven't read this entire thread, but seeing this post sounds like it might do it...hopefully it does!

OK, I see where that product did not help. I had a vehicle with an extreme cat piss smell and Valu Guard's Odor Terminator got rid of it. This is the limited description of it from their site:
"Odor Terminator is a unique contact odor eliminator for all organic odors."

Does that sound like it would help your cause?? I don't know if you would consider that an "organic odor" or not??

I was a Jaguar/Land Rover tech for 10 years. I can say from personal experience, the 80's to mid 90's models have a strange funky smelling interior. My 90's Audi had the same funky smell.

Strange and funky is one but to have the clothes and hair smell like mold i think it is dangerously unhealthy.

Current status: took down everything, including the dashboard, cleaned, sprayed the oxidated parts, painted the edge of the dashboard (that was smelling too)

took off all the lining and replaced it with Dynamat (seemed it was saved but i don't want to dismantle the dash one more time)

soaked the carpets and seat pads in water with cleaner and then let them burn in the sun. They seemed saved.

redone the textile of the roof, roof mounts and rear textile parts.

ordered new seat covers front and rear - leather was the only thing that we couldn't save.

we're currently cleaning the metal with disinfectant and putting everything back in. Still need to wait another 3-4 weeks for the seat covers.

fingers crossed the smell will dissapear!

thank you for all the amazing helpful advice! Keep you posted and will brag with pictures when everything is back in.
