getting paste on the pad?

Hi Guys,

Maybe a silly question but if I decided to use a hard(-ish) paste wax and DA apply it vs. hand apply, what is the right/best/accepted way of
getting not-too-much on a foam pad (black/blue/red) ??

I've read of people re-melting the wax and putting it in a deodorant/lipbalm dispenser but how do you do it?

Or is it all hand applied w/ a foam applicator?

There's always the good 'ol butter knife method.
Just use a knife to butter it onto your pad.

I can imagine that in inexperienced hands might put too much on the pad.

Do you pre-soften the wax in any way (guess that depends on how hard it is) ?

pad into the tin of wax, blipped the
on/off button a time or two and wala...
ready to go to town...
