Tips tricks tools?

My truck has a large moon roof in the rear and a sunroof in the front and I always end up with water spots cause I cant seem to reach all the way across it?

Simple 3 step ladder that I picked up from Lowe's for like $30.

It is light weight and easy to move around and works just fine for reaching the top of SUV's and trucks.

hmm use a step stool, still cant seem to reach the middle area haha

Remind me... what are you working on?

Next week I could use something like a black 1960's to 1980's car with black or dark paint and lots of swirls for a project. Basically something with a large flat hood and large flat trunk lid that are waist high like a banquet table. (works best for taking pictures)

Im learning on how to learn about car detailing. Ive been blessed and cursed with a new to me car (3 yrs old) but no license. So it sits in the garage and ive been experimenting with cleaning methods I read about on here.

So far just the basics, washing / claying / waxing... Im interested in taking it up a notch to and AIO and glaze

I don't have a car that old. but we have a fairly neglected 1998 Mercedes Benz C43 AMG that is black.

I picked one of these up at Sam's Club for $99. It's the exact same on Griot's Garage sells for $169:

Also thought I should add that I think the Werner is a great platform, I have one as well. The one I mentioned above is about twice as wide, one-and-a-half times longer, and maybe 6 inches taller. It also converts into a work bench (legs are extendable too), and has an integrated three-outlet power strip - perfect for plugging in your polishers!

Werner aluminum work platform x2. It is light and sturdy. Put two length wise and can do the whole roof without moving either platform. I have a set of florescent lights on wheels that is rigged with built-in extension cords so don't need the power bar.

Can you post or PM me the details on your lights on wheels? I've been thinking about getting a PDR light stand but they're pricey...

I have the Werner, a big thanks to many of you folks here, that I caught one on the last black Friday.

No regrets on this purchase, but as far as it being adequate for my Tahoe, it falls a bit short in height. The hood, yeah, the tops of the sides, yeah, but....

My Tahoe hasn't been lifted, is stock, just slightly larger tires. I cannot reach the center of the roof with the Werner.

I have to get on a 4' Ladder, and hate it, as I'm always worried about slipping, falling, or knocking the ladder into the sides of the body.

For these high vehicles, or like the one Mike P pictured, one almost needs two 6" ladders, and a sturdy Scaffold in between.
