So I'm finally getting my pick up painting, just going be the bed and driver's rocker panel. Currently my truck has pinstripe that isn't painted. I am not a fan of it at all and was going tell the body shop to just not replace it. Now the bed will be fine because it's being repainted but the whole cab will most likely have a ghost effect where the pinstripe was since the truck is 14 years old. Is there anything I can tell the body shop to do to help this out or handle on my own?

Need ss to get more quotes for paint job, one shop turned me down because I did body work (welded new panels in and added filler if needed) because they warranty the paint so since I did work they couldn't. Went to MAACO got quote, going go to 2 more body shops to see who I like the best.

The body shop should be able to minimize the "ghost effect" from pinstripe with light compound or a polish.

Just make sure that it's a reputable body shop with someone who is experienced at buffing. There are a lot of horror stories on this forum from people who placed their trust in a body shop, only to receive a hack job. Luckily your truck is silver, so you have to be pretty bad at buffing to screw that up.

Yea I want to go to a couple more shops to get quotes and get a feel for them. I'm hoping it won't be that bad...
