GG6 backling plate and pad size??

Thin Pro's are better for the machine if a free floating DA. Less pad mass to spin around and thus more efficient work done by the spinning/oscillating action.
 
the lake pads are nearly half the price of the boss pads. I,m only gonnna be doing a few cars a year is that really worth paying the extra cost

As a fellow novice, do not go the cheap route on pads. Lake country makes great pads, but so does Griot's. BOSS microfiber pads and orange correcting pads. Used Lake Country, Buff and Shine, Meguiar's, Chemical Guys, you name it. After trying them, I love the griot's pads because they were engineered to work b est with the Griot's machine and polishes. Can u help me with the thin pro pad selection ...
I was gonna get the grey to do some bad spots ?
But do i need all
Orange
White
Black
Red.
Which shall I get for compound. Polish . Wax. Seems like a couple of them overlap each other .
