GG6 deal question

Well dang. What to do. What to do.

The reason i asked, thr other deals listed give the option to upgrade to the 3rd generation. The deal that i linked doesnt give the upgrade option. So i figured it WAS the 3rd generation but was only makinh sure. I was already picking out my free sample and deciding what samples i was going to buy. Thanks for raining on my parade. lol

I may still get it. A newb like myself wouldnt notice a difference. But then again...

Still a good deal, can't go wrong with older gen.
Speed selector is in a better location.

I believe ill go on and order the 2nd generation thats on special with the five 6.5" white pads. Ive seen folks say the 6.5" pads will work with the gg6. Ive already ordered some 5.5" but ya can never have too many pads i reckon.

No you can't lol. Pads and microfibers have no limits. Just get the 2nd gen I have it and it works great. Plus I'd imagine in a year or whenever if it craps out they'll most likely send a 3rd gen replacement.

Don't do it. Pay more and get the third gen. Just my two cents

Why do you torture me so!

Its a tough decision. If i wasnt getting the five pads id for sure go with the 3rd generation. Though, i already have some pads. I reckon ill sleep on it and order tomorrow.

On another note.,

When i placed my last order, i ordered the sample of Blackfire Wet Diamond sealant. Think thats enough for a truck or two? It hasnt come in yet but im thinkin it is the 2oz bottle? Im liable to use way too much with me being a newb and run the risk of running out before i get to the tail gate. Im considering getting that as my free sample this go around to make sure i have plenty.

On the order before that, my free sample was the blackfire total eclipse tire gel in a 2oz bottle. This stuff looks like pepto bismol to me. Aint used it yet. Might shoulda got the spray.

Thanks

Since I'm new to all this detailing stuff I could be wrong......but I wouldn't get 6.5" pads. My GG6 seems to have a hard time with the bigger pads. I've got a smaller backing plate and use 5" and 4"(I think) and it seems to work much better. Just my 2 cents worth and I'm not bad mouthing the GG6.....I just like it with smaller pads and it could be my inexperience but would like to see what others would say about this.Feed back please

I recently got the 2nd gen with the pad deal. I had no issues with the size and it not running them. I wasn't pressing down hard but I don't think you are supposed to right?
I was also thinking that if it dies in a year or two they would probably send the newer one.
I believe you can rotate the body and get the switch on top but I haven't tried that yet.

i have owned griots polishers for over 18 years when the co. started. the warranty is always honored. great customer service from them and ag. that said the original 3 inch were crap. the only problem with the 1 and 2 gen was the switch. it really was a pain in the ass to accidently hit it and shut the machine off props for changing. that alone makes the gen 3 the choice. i only use mine with 6.5 inch pads for wax. use other machines for heavy correction.

Well, i went ahead and ordered the gg6 that came with the 6.5" pads. Thr main reason is, it was just enough cheaper for me to talk the wife into letting me order a detailers bag to go with it. Im sure ill be happy with it.

Now i should have everything I need (on order anyway) to start experimenting on my fatherinlaws truck.
