Gift Certificates, Really?

you made a fantastic choice going with the G15, backed with a excellent warranty and top notch customer service. who's to say that the rupes is going to be that much better if at all...

Honestly I still prefer my Rupes after trying the G15 and G21 at SEMA... All quality machines, personal preference imo, and the Rupes (to me) feels like a more refined machine. Kinda like comparing a BMW i8 to a Mercedes AMG GT

it's nice to have choices these days (everyone has their own opinion), i typically go with ones with not only quality products, but the customer service to back it...
 
I bet the marketing team at Autogeek has a meeting each month to try to figure out how to empty your bank accounts ;)

I really love my Bigfoot 21 but I am debating getting the G15 to do curves panels where the BF 21 really struggles. Of course I could get the Rupes 15mm but I would not use it tale much so it might be overkill...

Still have a few months to think about it :)

I just got a G15 a couple of weeks ago and have used it on two vehicles. Very nice machine. So much smoother than the DA I've been using.

I put one of the older style 7 inch thick Meguiars maroon cutting buffing pads on it just to see how it handled a lot of pad. It had no problem at all spinning it and the feel was, again, very smooth. Although I was just testing the machine to see what kind of power it had, this actually turned out to be a nice combination using HD Adapt. The pad covered a lot of surface area and the outside edges that were off the 5 inch backing plate still made solid contact with the paint and finished down the HD Adapt very nicely. It was actually kind of interesting how that seemed to add something to the finish....or else it was just my imagination?? To be honest, it actually seemed to finish out better than the smaller, thinner 5 inch pads I was also using. Strange. The finish was LSP ready and I will likely be using that (unorthodox) combo again...as strange as it may sound. It turned out to be a great way to cover a lot of surface on the hood, rear decklid, roof, and the larger areas on the doors and quarters.

Does the G15 correct better than the DA I had been using? No, but it did it faster and with noticeably less strain on the back and muscles.

But I've been using my Rupes 21 for nearly 3 years now and at SEMA I got to try the Mark II; If you aren't using proper Rupes techniques both machines will stall on concave panels, If you know don't know how to run the Mark I without stalling the Mark II will not help. The Flex is still a necessary machine for curvy vehicles IMO. Also I noticed a lot of vibration in the G21 at SEMA that I don't have with the Rupes, but maybe that's just me being picky. I am really excited for the iBrid though, that's going to be gamechanger... Hopefully I can resist buying 3 of them lol.

That makes me feel better about the G15. I was worried the Mark II would be less prone to stalling but I guess all long throws will eventually stall a bit if you try to take a bad angle on a panel.

Did test out the G15 a little bit the other day and like you noticed it wasn't as smooth as the Rupes. Not by much but it was noticeable. But that was using a LC HD Orbital pad. Maybe the BOSS pads would be better.

Yeah Griots customer service is great. Learned that first hand this year when my GG6 broke down.

And that was kind of my thinking about the new Mark II. Maybe it will be a little nicer then my G15 .. maybe not.

But I'm glad I stuck with the G15. Especially since I bought this as a Christmas present and it looks like the Mark IIs haven't even shipped yet :xyxthumbs:
