I've gotten a lot of people wanting to buy gift certificates for people. How do you guys go about this?

I have an unorthodox method of doing GC
If a customer wants a GC for someone, I give them what they want and tell them to pay me when its redeemed. I do this for ttwo reasons
1) I never know what kinda condition the car they'll be sending will be in
2) I HATE doing a car that I've already been paid for 6 months ago or longer. Plus I always seemed to undercharge doing the prepaid, so that made it really suck!
My wife prints them up using high quality paper and matching envolopes. She usually makes them smell good too![]()
It might help if you do the gift card for a dollar amount and not a detail. So if the car is in bad condition you aren't obligated to a specific service, but they can still use the card towards their balance and pay the remainder.
Do u recommend an expiration date on the certificates?
I ended up just selling a dollar amount. If anything goes bad, maybe I'll change it in the future.
