I am contemplating the purchase of a foam gun. What is better the CG Foam Blaster 6 or the AG Branded Gilmore Foammaster?

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Gilmour from amazon, model 75ar?, ar for adjustable ratio. With brass not plastic.

Yes, I believe the AG version I was looking at had the adjustable ratio.

Interesting question. The Foamaster II has the plastic dial; I always wanted to try that when my Foamaster with the brass adjustments gave up. My reasoning is the plastic wouldn't corrode like the brass and become hard to adjust. I'm not sure if the general backlash against the plastic/II version is just "anti-plastic" or if there is actually some durability concern with that version.

I would just get a Gilmore foam gun cause your basically getting one when you buy it from chemical guys though if was me ill look on eBay, amazon and compare the prices I brought a Gilmore one with brass adjustable top and I love it

Hey, that Bunny Gun seems to have more/different ratios than the brass gun...I thought I had looked into this before and they were the same? The Gilmour site doesn't seem to have those details on it anymore.

Wait--that's for cleaning bunnies?

EDIT: Oh heck, that's a deal!

hahaha, yeah those look like great deals alright.

I see Gilmore has the Foamaster II and the regular brass body Foamaster. Do each of these produce the same amount of foam or is one better than the other?

I have the plastic dial and love it. No issues, and I have pretty hard water where I live.

It's the same model number and the product description shows it has the Gilmour.

I have an older Gilmore and it has a brass fittings but after time and a couple of drops it was time to try the Bunny K. Just seems a little cheap , We wills see how the long haul does..

I found a Foamaster II on Amazon.ca that was a good price. Even better it includes free shipping!

I'm looking forward to trying this thing out.

I'll check out some other threads for type and amount of soap to use.

Thanks

Let us know what the dilution settings are on the II vs. the "I" that is sold here.

I'll let you know once I figure this out. Given the CG Foam blaster 6 appears to be the same as the II (just a different colour) the CG's dilution ratio may be the right way to go. I do notice that the bottle on the CG has a soap fill line. I may inquire with CG on how many oz that it is to that fill line.

Yeah but. The "I" gives an ounces-per-gallon setting, while the Bunny Gun instructions give a ratio (20:1, 30:1, 100:1 etc.) that don't exactly correspond to the "I" gun. I don't know if one is a rounded off version of the other, or what. There doesn't seem to be any info on the CG site (and as I stated previously, nor on the Gilmour site), so we're all counting on YOU to give us the straight skinny on what the instructions are on the Foamaster II.

Lol! I'll do what I can. I have an email inquiry into CG. I called their technical service toll free number and it was busy.

I can't decide on a gun or cannon. I have access to a PW but the hose and gun seem more convenient.

It is really about a trade-off on time vs clinging time of the soap if you exclude the fun factor.

The foam gun is quicker to get set up and the pw requires a bit more time to get out. If you like dwell time, the pw/foam cannon is best, if you just want a "starter" layer of suds, then the foam gun is what you want.

However, I think with an ample supply of quick disconnects, the pw offers the best wash practice. It pre-rinses better and post rinses better to get off residue soap while using a lot less water especially if you use an low GPM electric.

You can have a sheeting attachment (just a cut off hose with a quick disconnect) to sheet off water after the last rinse plus you get use the foam cannon to pre-wash (like with AF Avalanche) and pre-coat with your favorite soap before a 2 bucket style wash.

You get a lot of options.

Foam on!
