Glass Polishing & Scratch remover

Hello everyone, just want to share.
Just last night, i tried new stuff.

Before:

quiet a scratch, I can feel with my finger nail.

Can you see it?

These are new pigtail that i've made last weekend, cause i used dirty glass polihing disc, it seems like there's a sharp debris in it. And it made my car window like this. !@#%*#!@!
I can also feel it with my finger nail.

These are before, just hazy and minor scratch. I believe these car had been to amateur car valeting. I can see they used acid to clean water spots, and because of this acid, the window is very easy to scratch. Water spots on European car window is forbidden to be clean by using acid.
Please buy dedicated product, for your own sake.

Tools & 'Ammo's:
1. Rotary DeWalt 849
2. BP 3"
3. Glass polishing disc
4. Cerium Oxide dillute +/- 3:1
5. Aquades
6. MF
7. Chamois

Polish with Rotary DeWalt 849, speed 1000.
and splatter everywhere. if you try to keep clean, cover your surroungings with newspaper and mask it. Just because i am planning to wash my car after wards, i didn't cover it at all.

Important Points:
1. stay focus.
2. slow hand movement.
3. keep your disc flat.
4. if your glass is a bit warn/hot, better if you moved to another spot, and spray it with sprayer, leave it for a while.
5. be patience, glass polishing would take a while.
6. find comfortable position.
7. know when you have to add water to your disc.
8. Often check your result.
9. make sure your tools/equipment are clean, specially glass polishing disc, MF, dan chamois.

recommendation:
1. use eye protection.
2. use dust mask.

Has anyone tried this on a BMW windshield?

I'm at a point where I should replace the windshield as it's pitted after driving 160,000 miles on SoCal freeways. If I could safely remove the minor pits, it could save me a windshield replacement.

How long did it take to do the side window? Did you do all windows?

With a 160k on your BMW it really deserves a new windshield.But seriously i think the the glass kit is really made for spot repairs.If you have pits and scratches all over your windshield and you polish a few places it may actually cause the windshield to look distorted when you look out from the inside.We used to have a guy do that for a living polishing windshields but we stopped using him because of the distortion it caused

You should try it, just like brand new glass.

Polishing with felt pads/glass polishing disc can be done to any car glasses, no different at all. For my window scrathces and pigtails i worked about +/- 1,5-2 hours.
I haven't polish my entire windows yet, but i will... :buffing:

the distortion as you mentioned is because he made to much heat to the glass, if i may say "work fast and quick money". For us (car enthusiasts and detailers) i bet we could work on the glass with caution and wouldn't mind take more time to make our car perfect. Just try it first by yourself then you will have another knowledge. :dblthumb2:

The guy didn't work for me personally .I was only stating what happened when he polished glass.And what makes you think i never tried polishing glass.:dblthumb2:

if you couldn't find one, just buy these kit:
Diamondite® Glass Repair System Kit polishes out scratches in auto glass windshields and windows. Diamondite Glass polish restore car glass.

or if you already have some of the product, go for diamondite glass revitalizing creme.
