I was watching a video from meguires concerning their Show Car Glaze. The video showed using the show car glaze as a finishing product over wax!! I always thought you put wax over the glaze?

Is the Show Car Glaze a substantially diferent product than my XMT Glaze w/carnuba. My standard finishing technique is XMT glaze/wax followed by Pinnacle Soveran. Then the next day I spritz with Crystal Mist and lay on another thn coat of Soveran.

Im trying gto get the best pop of the metal flake and wetest finish even if only for the day of application.

My car is a Obsedian Black MB (metallic). I'm thinking about XMT Glaze...then soveran liquid......then the next day Crystal mist and Soveran Paste.....then repeat Mist and Soveran ....followed by show car glaze???

Souveran paste will mute flakes a little, but will make wettest finish you can get with pure wax. Signature Series II will make flakes pop, but finish won't be as wet. Why don't you do a hood test? I'd get some ClearKote Red Machine Glaze (RMG), and top that with wax.

Post your results too.
Good luck.

Max Wax is a really good one for flake pop as well. #7 is a good glaze, but I personally think the XMT is much better. It really brings out the color and shine of the paint and wets it as well. It's a really good base for a wax. Just my 2 cents.

Some mix VMG with RMG to get Pink glaze. I personally have never done it.

I would like to see this video. Glaze should always be UNDER the wax. The only thing I can think of on why is just for a quick filling of scratches before a show.

I'm with Justin, I never heard of putting Glaze on top of a wax.

I know several guys that use Glazes alone and glazes on top of waxes. They want the absoloute wettest look and need no protection as these are show cars. Great thing, when I show them Souveran they usually agree its just as wet and deep looking, but the added protection makes it a plus.

What's wrong with the hood? and the bumpers?

The car looks great from the pictures.

I totally agree, I had an old 1982 Toyota, Tercel and surprisingly not that much rust on it.
