I'm really loving the Rupes UHS system! The more I use it the better it gets. The GMC was a big truck and I wanted to go around the truck one time.

Started out with the BLACKFIRE AIO and it really took off the varnish like layer with gloss. But there were deep scratches all around and the AIO was too short removing them. These scratches were deep but not quite as deep as RIDS. Needed something with bit more cut. Remember this is one big truck. I've could have gone with Rupes blue coarse pads and blue compound, then finish off the paint with Rupes yellow fine polish with yellow pads. Would have had to go around twice...And to lay down LSP for third time around? No thanks...!

Went with the Rupes UHS. it cuts deep and finishes off LSP ready.

Tried the Sonax perfect finish---no deal. It did not cut deep enough.

Back to the UHS---sweet...sweet!

Sealed the paint with Rupes P808.

Onto the pictures...

First picture was the BLACKFIRE AIO

Second picture was the UHS. UHS has deeper cut and much nicer finish overall!

OK...here's the rest of the pictures. Thanks for looking!

Oh, one other thing before I forget---All this with moderate arm movements.

Couple of passes---same as Blackfire AIO. Gloss with scratches.

Four passes and sometimes five---sweet! 70% scratches removed.

A few "stubborn" spots here and there around the truck---6, 7 sometimes 8. Gone!!

Love this system!

Nice job. The UHS system gives good results. Seems like you got the technique down for using it.

Thanks for chiming in Gus.

It's a great compound/polish system all at once. Perfect for large trucks or if one is under a time crunch and needed to create near perfect results.

If I recall---got started from reading one of your articles on the UHS system sometime ago!!

I agree it works well. It worked well to restore the gloss on the truck.

I just tried out the UHS pads with Sonax Cut & Finish and it worked out well. So I now know there are two compounding polishes that can do a good job.

Great work! Seems like a great system and intresting that the UHS pads works with other one step compound polish. It's a time saver when the AIO is not enough. But the Blackfire AIO was it not to be able to work with a rather coarse pad and cut and finish good? What pads did use with the Blackfire AIO?

Have you tried the UHS system on ceramic clearcoat paint?

Thanks for shareing your work!

Tough to go wrong with that combo.

That is what I turn to if the keramik/yellow microfiber leaves any haze, and I want a one step. I've also used Quarz on Yellow pads, but I still think UHS gives better gloss.

Agreed! Great one step if you do not want to go around car or huge truck 2 times doing compound and polishing steps.

Love this stuff big time...And huge time saver as well!

Nice to see test spots done, and a solution found. :)

Nice work on that truck, Tom.

Haven't tried BLACKFIRE AIO on a coarse pad. Tried it on a Rupes white pad, meh... And then tried it on a Rupes yellow pad---much better. That's the combo I used on the GMC. Cleaned out the surface film and produced high gloss but did not remove moderate deep scratches. Decided to up the cut more with the UHS system and it got the job done with a LSP ready surface.

Have no idea how it will work on a ceramic clearcoat paint. My guess it might fall just a tad short on a complete removal. Not sure tho...

Tom

Tom nice job and about the Black Fire AIO I have been using orange HDO pads and getting good cut.
