GMC Sierra clay and seal

Customer came in with a very dirty truck and wanted a wash, clay, and seal.
By very dirty this is what I mean....

There was something in the fender well and behind the wheel that looked like some kind of glue and was very difficult to safely remove. We got about 90% of it before we had to move on due to time constraints. Anyway first up was wheels.

Next up a presoak and pressure wash before another soak and wash:

Forgot to get shots of the clay but the truck had a decent amount of contamination. After applying the sealant and a quick vacuum and wipe down here are the results:

You can see the remnants of the mystery glue in the wheel well but much improved and the customer was very happy with it.
 
Great work right there!

Just curious, what did you charge for that and was it hand applied?

Honestly for this customer it was a deal at $50. And yes it was applied by hand. I occasionally use a machine to apply but I just felt like applying by hand was best for this job.
 
It being a job inside the dealership I use a sealant from our supplier called poly guard. I've tested it on several vehicles and it holds up well. However I use higher quality AG products on anything I do outside of the dealership.

Must be a real good friend because for a vehicle that size and grit it would be $175 for me without a doubt, that's a lot of real estate!

Looks awesome. So you clayed and sealed? No polishing? I usually get marring when I clay. What clay and lube did you use?

Lol it's more like my managers have no idea what they could be charging. For $220 you can get clay and an AIO for the exterior and a full extract and steam clean of the interior!

Yes I used a mild clay and final inspection. Kneaded very often and I did the top, tailgate, and bottom of the sides last as they usually have the most contamination.
 
The best clay lube is sprayway glass cleaner 1.39 a can it cleans the surface while claying leaving you with a squeaky clean surface,I don't like clay lube I feel that the clay is not grabbing enough on the paint.

I will be trying this Monday. Does the extra grip not cause marring?
 
NO ,I just purchased 50 cans and doesn't eat up clay.Its also good for interiors that just need a quick spruce up,when claying with sprayway keep the panel wet you won't be disappointed.
