So, I am in the middle of my annual full detail of my truck and about 1/2 way through with the exterior. A little history though. I bought the Typhoon a few years ago via internet deal. Upon arrival I was all giddy about finally having one of these and didn't notice the paint condition for some time. Yes it was shiny and presentable. Once I calmed down and got into stepping up the shine, I noticed that the hood isn't original, nor is the tailgate. I think it was sandwiched in a light crash, that didn't show up on any carfax, etc reports. In fact the paint on the hood is a few shades darker than the rest of the truck. Working with what I have I dove in last year to get a good base finish with generic auto part store products.

I began with the Mothers clay bar, Meguiars #9 Swirl Remover, Meguiars #7 Show Car Glaze, and topped that with Meguiars Gold Class wax. That brought it up to a pretty nice shine with added depth. Doing the top was no fun. That detail job was about a year ago.

This year I changed things up and am giving wax from Dodo Juice a try. After washing with the Blackfire waterless kit I didn't feel the need to re-accomplish a clay bar session. I don't drive it that often and it stays in the garage. I dove right in with Hard Candy followed up by Rainforest Rub. This time I am noticing an even deeper shine, and the color is more vibrant. I am working in the garage with harsh direct light, that really brings out flaws. I am about 1/2 way complete. Applying this stuff by fingertip is more time consuming than I expected, but as advertised a little does truly go a long way. I can't wait to roll it out into the sunlight.

The Typhoon isn't the typical Black nor White, but a little rarer OE Metallic Forest Green, with Metallic Grey cladding. Somewhere in it's life, a previous owner had the spun finish on the wheels polished and I don't care for that. What a pain keeping the bare aluminum shiny. It is on the list to have them restored to factory finish. I'll snap a couple pics when I finish it up and try to figure out posting them.

Welcome and I look forward to seeing some pictures of this original 'super truck'!! Always liked them and the Cyclone...
