Going Crazy, What's the Right Way to Clean Glass???

I have a way to get the glass crystal clear and it is cheap and easy. I do not use this method too often as I clean my windows very often now. But when they get real dirty and grimy this works. Use dishwasher liquid. Put a few drops in a bottle of water and mix it well. Place a large towel, like a beach towel, on the dashboard or rear deck, and spray the glass generously. Sometimes I just put the cleaner in a kitchen pot and dip a cleaning cloth in it. Wipe the glass really well while keeping the glass well saturated. Then get yourself a small squeegie and wipe the solution down to the towel. Use a paper towel to dry off where the squeegie missed. Perfectly clean glass. I use this on interior only as the solution will most likely strip wax. Don't dis the idea until you try it.

I don't use any sophisticated solution because my glass outside is treated all around with coating, and interior side has tint.

Been using an OTC glass cleaner that I will refer to as "Bird Uno" to follow the rules rofl. With a dedicated low nap microfiber glass towel and windows come out perfect with one swipe

I think I must be missing something.. I just wipe mine down with a IUDJ I mixed up (& short nap MF) and have no issues with film or visibility in sunlight or under street lights.

I use this method to clean my eyeglasses (except I don't use a paper towel to dry them), it does leave the lenses perfectly clear and scratch free. I was just trying to figure out a way to do that to my interior glass when the windows get bad.

Most brand name glass cleaners work pretty well. The real secret to streak free glass is using lots of towels so you're never simply removing film off glass in one area only to smear it back onto glass in another area. It's called cross-contamination and again the secret is once you have removed any type of film, haze, residue, (streaks are made from these things), so that these substances are physically on your wiping towel then don't use that side of the towel or that towel at all for wiping glass. Get it out of the car or away from the car.

Also... the Glass Master Pro for doing the inside. Most people use this tool the WRONG way. I show how to use it correctly here.

Another Stoner Invisible Glass fan here.

As has been said use the spray liberally and use plenty of glass version MF towels. I got a case of both from here and my windows are spotless inside and out with almost no effort.
I also use one of the long handled, triangular head wands to get to the hard to reach corners. I just drape an MF glass towel over the end of the wand and change it three or four time while wiping down the inside of the front glass.

These are the towels I like.

I like the KD Cloth idea... I'll definitely give that a try. Besides that, I'll stick with terrycloth towels as backups. The "clean twice" rule is a good step and definitely always using dry cloths are a good step. Does anyone recommend a decent glass cleaner chemical?

Just to answer a few questions: I used rain-x water repellent on the interior. Not much haze or streaks on the exterior though. The theory that the chemicals react to the sun is very plausible because I notice that the haze gets worse over time (on it's own).

Ok this has worked for me I use a bucket of tap water with just a couple of drops of ivory liquid in it then use an old non lint smaller "cotton" towel dip it into the bucket and leave it as wet as you can but not dripping wipe your window. Ok next I use another bucket with clean hot tap water and cotton towel and hit the same window. I then come back with a third cotton towel to dry turning regularly. Yes it is old school but it works try it!

A follow-up? To add:
Are you guys having to clean the exterior glass after you've spent quality time and $ on a perfect wash n dry?

Lots of good advice here. The only thing I would add and someone might have mentioned it already but just be sure your cleaner is safe for window tint.

Not really, just a quick wipe with a damp towel and buff with a dry one, all the cleaning was done during the wash.

We do want them perfect for our clients, even if they're not paying to clean glass inside i will clean anyway so it doesn't detract from the exterior.
