Anyone know of a good place to get interior and exterior trim/finish parts for and 03 explorer? I'm looking for things like A/C control knobs, shifter boots, vent covers, door panels, door seals, etc.

I've tried my local dealer, and even with zero experience know I'd be getting ripped off badly for these types of things. I've also tried eBay, but that's really hit or miss, and most of the finish stuff is used and in worse condition than what I'm trying to replace.

Any good, reputable online sources for OE and/or good quality salvage parts?

Also, will I get strange looks if I check out local junk yards looking for these types of parts?

I have a 99 explorer. Sometimes I can find good aftermarket stuff on eBay. Also look on another forum called explorerforum.com. Sometimes they'll have parts for sale.

What I'm doing right now is refinishing my radio bezel and center consol. I just took them out and am reprinting them with rattle cans. They're actually coming out pretty good.

Why would you get funny looks at the junkyard? That's honestly gonna be your best option. Prices should be the cheapest there plus you get to inspect the parts to make sure they're in good condition.

I have a set of mud flaps for an 03 explorer I never used lol.

I would also suggest the junkyard. I got a set of fog lights there for like 50 bucks.

On eBay I got a practically new leather steering wheel to replace the vinyl one that was falling apart. Also got the fog light surrounds on eBay for like 20 a piece I think.

Was going to replace my front door panels and the master switch but ended up getting a new car so stopped buying stuff for the explorer.

Check Rock Auto first.

It's surprising what they stock. But the older the car the less they will have.

I am currently looking for a pair of 1992 explorer XLT front seat covers. The original gray leather. I think my best bet is going to be lucking into a nearly perfect condition front passenger seat in a junkyard.
