What is a good, reliable exterior detailing wax for SUV?

You're going to get LOTS of different opinions. First choice is between sealant, liquid wax or paste wax.
The sky is the limit on some waxes (re: price)

Sealant: Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant or Jescar Powerlock or Optimum Optiseal
Liquid: Collinite 845
paste: Collinite 476S

What color is your ride? If it's white then a sealant or any of the Collinite's. If it is a dark colored vehicle, I prefer the paste waxes like Pinnacle Souveran Paste wax or Sonax and many others.

But you can't go wrong with any of the ones mentioned here.

If you have a lot of area to cover spray sealants like Ultima Paint Gaurd Plus make the work quick and easy.

Ultima Paint Guard Plus 4oz., paint sealant, liquid wax, car wax, paint sealer

Optimum Opti-Seal is another, and I hear Blackfire Crystal Seal is good also.

Collinite #476 and I see where your from and you'll be happy with the performance over the winter, trust me. I would apply 2 coats leaving about 12 hours inbetween, so maybe leave it in the garage between coats and give it a quick wipedown with your favorite QD before the 2nd coat.

For light color (Silver, White etc) i prefer Finish Kare 1000P Hi-Temp Paste Wax, high melt polymer car wax, Finish care auto wax.. No matter which wax or sealant you choose everything is in prep..OTC if you like go for Megs ultimate Liquid or paste wax (I prefer liquid for easier machine application) and top that with Megs Ultimate Fast Finish..Maintain this with Ultimate quick wax or D156 which is a gallon version of ultimate quick wax..Collinite Marque D’Elegance Carnauba Paste Wax #915, car wax, paste auto wax
also durable wax..

How often do you plan on "waxing" it ? A cleaner wax every three months or so is what I would consider
Poorboys polish with carnauba
Sonax ez shine
Even the megs or the California gold mothers are good.

I have snow white SUV kia sorento. I want just quick spray wax to top off existing wax.
