Goodbye Mopsy, 14 years was not enough. You stayed longer than Olde English Sheepdogs are supposed to. You gave us unconditional love and affection. You were protective of us and you could be a clown at times. You were gentle with everyone, including those ornery ferrets. I could see the compassion in your eyes when you looked at me and an intelligence that I can't even begin to understand. I hope that someday I will see you again and you'll be there by my side once more. You were more than just a dog to me, you were my friend.

Geez Don! I know how it feels!

Sorry for your loss.

Tom

Sorry sorry for your loss. So hard losing our canine members of the family.

Sorry to hear of your loss. My mother in law lost her 14-year old German Shepherd back in January. I was very close to him and it hit me very very hard. People who are not 'dog people' don't understand how they're more than pets....they are family. Here's a quote by Ben Ames Williams that I've shared many times:

A dog does not live as long as a man and this natural law is the fount of many tears. If boy and puppy might grow to manhood and doghood together, and together grow old, and so in due course die, full many a heartache might be avoided. But the world is not so ordered, and dogs will die and men will weep for them so long as there are dogs and men.

My sincere condolences.

We can never keep them long enough;
may the memories of the times you
shared, give you comfort and strength.

Bob

Don,

I am sure you had unconditional love for 14 years, and so did Mopsy. That is a special bond, and may the love stay with you forever.

Sorry for your loss. It’s been 5 years since my Bugsy passed and I haven’t been able to bring myself to get another dog since.

So sorry to hear that, Don. I am sure Mopsy had a wonderful life and knows you provided it.

Sorry for your loss Don. We've been through several. 14 years is a great life though and those memories are something you will never lose.

Very sorry to read this Don... having just lost my one grey I can empathize only too much.

I hope your memories with Mopsy bring you and your family comfort.
One day you will be reunited over the Rainbow Bridge.

Sorry for your loss, they really are a big part of the family.

Very beautiful post, Don.

It is never easy to lose one of our family members, and I know just how you feel. :/

I'll be thinking of you, buddy.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Dogs are some wonderful critters and a great part of our lives. My condolences.
