Got asked for invoice to show how I came up with my price

No I don't I've talked to my insurance company about it. I don't do high end cars I only do this part time and I have all the resources to repair anything that could happen. But I've never had any issues or problems. I hope to someday go full time but a little scared when there's hacks all around that charge $40 for full details. Someday I will go full time and shut all these hacks down.

dont create an invoice to accommodate a company or they wil pick it apart and try to low ball you or not pay invoices. For fleets and dealerships i have a dealer one and dealer 2 package and fleet 1 and fleet 2 package. you can name it what you like.

I list Fleet Package one as a full detail and itemize all the services i do in that package for the price. If i was to do mobile which i refuse to do fuel surcharges would be listed seperate as would ahop supplies if i charged them seperate.

If you start to itemize things they will not want to pay what you are charging. Avoid it if you can and tell them you do not invoice like that. It is dont as a package.

Worst thing you can do in a business is let a fleet or dealer customer take control.

That result can be bad but you shouldn't be afraid of giving your client/customer the info, if you want long term relationship.

For short term relationship, when the time is right, you can be as cold as you want and the ball will be on your court. However, for long term relationship you have to work side-by-side.

If anybody serious about being good businessman, I highly suggest taking a leadership course at your local university. The cost is very minimal to what you can gain, about $1-3K. Also, there are classes out there that teach you about contracts and price/cost. Those two combination will help you lead.
