Got my car back from the body shop today...

So got my car from the body shop from where a semi took a turn too wide and destroyed my front drivers fender.

They did pretty good work body wise, but after inspection under the sun and a IPA wipedown, there are some massive buffer trails and swirls! I took the car, signed off on it, and went on my way, no way am I going to let them try to fix the holograms!

They told me not to do any kind of waxing, polishing anything for 90 days..

Anyways onto the pics!

You can polish using bodyshop safe products (Menzerna). Won't hurt the curing of the paint at all. Looks like they did an overall good job in terms of the paint and body work (can't expect a swirl free finish from a body shop).

I couldn't really capture the holograms all that well. They are worse than what they appear in the pictures.

Since Bodyshop safe products are a go, do you think the Wolfgang Duo will be fine then for this. That's all I have currently besides a 2oz sample of 85RD.

expect to find some overspray, usually noticable at first wash. Area will not feel very smooth.

Didn't I tell ya that you needed to come up north to the great state of Michigan to find a quality body shop.

When my TL came out of the body shop after a complete repaint there were holograms and buffer trails everywhere, so the same day I got it back I went to work with some menzerna IP + white pad and it cleaned it all up.

You think if I used some Wolfgang TSR and a white pad it'd help with the swirls and holograms? Plan on doing that this weekend.

Trust me, the Metro Detroit area is filled with as many(if not more ) hack body shops just like anywhere else. Can you name a few you have in mind that do good work?
