Well my Hitachi rotary and flexible backing plate came in yesterday! :D

My car wasn't clean, but I quickly QD'd a couple of areas so I could practice. Considering I've never used a rotary before, I think my first outing was a success. I used a finishing pad and PO106FF starting at ~800 rpm and then at ~1200 rpm. The finish was smooth, clear, and free of holograms.

Overall, the rotary was easy to use, but it seemed to "tug" a little when moving the same direction it spins.

I washed the car this morning and got some more practice in with the rotary.

The process was pretty similar - PO106FF with finishing pad at 1200 rpm.

I'm starting get a much better feel for the machine and how to "move" it.

Just remember, no matter how good you get with the rotary, it'll still be a Camaro. :D

Nice job!

Noooo. Cheby guys know there's no sense in fighting the Ford guys.:D j/k of course it's very pretty car for a Camaro.

Hey, if I got offered a 69 Camaro I sure as hell wouldn't turn it down!! That's one badassed ride!

Ford vs. Chevy....age old battle!

Like Viper vs. Vette....but then again...do what my customer did!

Buy both!

I have a rotary used it many times. Placed the polish on the hood rubbed it in and just as it started to flahh before drying clear this happen in a micro second. Becareful go slow and you'll acheive some nice results.

if i remember right Justin won't use one beause there to much of a liability.

What was your polish/pad/speed combination when that happened?

High Temp extreme cut w/OP 50/50

Makita #3
E2K yellow Pad

I was completely thru with the job and went to touch up the hoop.

I took it to the body shop buy the house and said the CC look like it hadn't cured properly. He opened up the hood and found rust under the hood where the CC peeled. The owner admitted the the hood was a repaint but he sure in the hell didn;t mention this when i ask if the truck had been repaired before.

It didn't even bother him he loved the detail paid me the $$. I was definately prepared to repair the damage and have the chips in his hood fixed as well.

you can't imagine how i felt.
