GOT MY SWIRLS OUT! Hot red C-6! LOOK - XMT ROX!

Thank you, everyone! Trust me, I know how to keep swirls at bay -
I use the Pinnacle body shampoo, a schmitt, and a guzzler, at the least. Good to go.
AG ROCKS. I NEVER thought I could get that paint to look right, ever!

Lauren,

Your car looks fantastic! Isn't it a great feeling when you drive onto a dealer's lot and your car looks better than the new ones?

Next time if I were you I would try "jewelling" the finish like Killr always talks about. Just add one more polishing step . . . XMT #1 on finishing pad. You may also want to try some XMT Glaze under your Souveran for even more "pop."

I really like that color. See if you can take some in the sunlight. I bet it will look tons better. I still wish I had kept looking for a used C6 instead of sorta giving up and getting my GTO.

damn... it looks magnificent in the shade, wonder how it would be at mid day under the sun

Lauren!! :applause: You did an outstanding job!! The paint looks beautiful!! The Souveran is like a mirror letting you see deep into the paint. Phenomenal work and you made an excellent choice for LSP. Now you can enjoy turning heads as you drive by in your liquid red mirror-mobile. :p

Looks awesome! congrats, i know how long and hard you battled with those swirls, its always great to see hard work pay off!

Now that's one sweet ride.....very sharp looking vehicle. Great job! Now for those reflection "mugshots" so we can put a face with the name;)

 wow that is awesome work, that paint :righton: . It looks so wet and fresh...:applause: nice...to bad your married ;) joking

Question for you, how old is this car? Looks brand spanking new and you brought a PC close to it, where you nervous? Was this the first time you detailed a car with a PC? Why didn't you use the XMT Glaze? Did you have any problems using the XMT products? Surry for all the questions but I've never used a PC nor the XMT products and I just ordered a bunch of stuff....oh...oh..what did you think of the white ShMITT? I ordered one and can't wait to get it.

Another question, for anyone. I feel silly asking but what is a LSP? I've seen it everywhere but I can't find the meaning, I even went through Sparki's abbreviation sheet and it wasn’t there

Car looks great, Lauren! I'd love to see some sun shots if you get a chance.

LSP = Last Step Product.

Hi Nica!
thanks for the kudos! Yes, this is a monterey red 07 vette I bought on August 7, 2006. So it is super new. I could not stand to see the swirls in the paint - it just ruined the red for me, so I researched how to get swirls out, because there was nothing in Auto Zone... then I found this forum Everyone gave me advice. When I saw Scott (Kllr)'s beautiful black vette, then I figured it was safe for me. Plus a pc doesn't burn paint. I LOVE XMT products. I tried it first on the hood of our green van, and i had it.It is easy. i used it on the car some, and I had some help from a former student who is going into automotives - I paid him to pc part of it, andi did all the rest. Trust me, the car cost me well more than you would think by looking at the Chevy website - it is safe for all clearcoated cars.
I LOVE the Schmitt!:righton: Use it all the time. Won't use anything else. Excellent. It is the schmitt, after all!! Lol...:p

I have the XMT glaze...but it took sooo long (weeks) to get it right and done that I just used Souveran paste as my lsp - last step product. That product is just awesome! :awesome:
Besides, it took soo long every time and my arms were ready to fall off- I just wanted her to look right. I am going to seal it later with Wolfgang sealant.
i hope that helps. i am happy to help, like everyone here helped me!!! I can't thank them all enough.:grouphug:
feel free to ask me anything. the pc is cool. You won't hurt your car. I can't stop looking at the vette now - love at first sight got even worse!
lol!!:D
Good luck. Share your photos.
I will have to get some photos in the sun if we can ever get some real sun around here!!!:) Lauren
