It took me forever to jump on the 845 band wagon. I'm the type of person that if everyone is going right I go left. I bought it only for my windshield as an alternative to rain x but decided I'd try it out on my paint. It added more depth then any other wax I've used. So I thought wow this stuff really is great. Then after three washes it was still beading. That really impressed me. It's a great wax you're gonna love it.

The only thing that scares me is the fact it's temperature sensitive they say 50-80 optimal for surface temp. I have digital laser temp gauge so I'll use that before applying. Also will be doing this in my garage! I also ordered some nice applicator pads.

For the clay I plan on using chemical guys synthetic quick detailer :). As a lube it's great. As a detailer don't expect too much depth.

Good luck with your new products! :props:

Collinite 845 is a great wax but don't get too hung up on the temperature. What's most important is you spread Collinite 845 super thin otherwise you'll end up with a sticky mess.

I apply it with my Porter Cable 7424 dual action polishers and a blue foam pad.

Place 4 dime size globs of product about 3/4" in from the outer edge. Set the machine speed to 3 then place it on the surface and switch it on. This is enough product to do nearly an entire hood...

Pad rotation when applying wax isn't important. Use the weight of the machine only, downward pressure isn't needed.

Allow the product to dry for 30 minutes or so then buff with a clean microfiber towel...

Interesting. I want to order the 7424XP but want to wait. By hand should be too bad right???

I ordered two bottles. But from the sounds of it one will do for a while. So now I'm wondering about shelf life. I could just sell it.........

You should love the 845 and the DG rain repel. The RR works awesome!!!

You can apply via an applicator. Take it slow and find the line between being super frugal with product usage vs. applying with a dry applicator, then "tow that line". I use P21S foam applicators when I apply 845. If you see a lot of 845 on the paint you are applying too much product. It would be better to put 2 light layers on then one thick layer.

Awesome! Thanks! I'm so so tempted to get a porter cable :). But it will have to wait :(. I can get a kit for $230 shipped with 3 pads and backing plate. Not bad but maybe on my next application of 845 !

Well, detailed my wife's car and mine. Took two days but got her done.

On my wife's car I did a wash, clay, wash and sealed with collinite. Cleaned windows with aquapel and applied rain repel by dura gloss. Cleaned the inside a little and she's good to go. Next year she's getting a polish. This year collinite will have to do :). I applied megs tire shine to finish it off :)

On mine I washed, dried, gleaned windows and applied rain repel. Applied collinite and used it on headlight, tail lights and chrome grill. Turned out pretty good. Finished off with Meg's tire shine

Thanks ! :). I wanted a silver Santa Fe. But she liked the white. I think her car in the metallic silver is amazing!!!! White is nice. When it's clean. Lol. I was thinking of adding food colouring to the collinite next time. I'm gonna email them and see if it will affect the composition. It's really hard to see the white on white

Fleck pop that is looking nice! You bought some great items on that list :)

Thank you!

Yeah I like decent stuff. Especially on the vehicles. Regardless of what I drive I always take care of it. :). My neighbours always make fun of me and tell be I'm gonna wash the paint off.

Oh, and just because I could. I tested the surface temp of the paint before applying with a laser temp gauge. According to collinite between 50-80 is optimal for application.
