after about 2 hours of wetsanding and polishing, we have these 50/50 shots

thanks for looking.

sure.

Basically, I just claybarred the entire hood and re-washed it (prior to taking these pics of course). Then I taped off 2 sections and hit it with m105 and a yellow diamond cut megs pad for 2 passes and the overspray and defects came right out for the most part, but i had to wet-sand and fill in the deep scratches with touch-up paint and then wet sand again. The hood still has some dents in it that I will have my body guy take care of eventually, since I'm a perfectionist on this car and I want everything perfect. I followed up the m105/megs pad with a black ccs pad with some 85rd menzerna. Gave it a nice deep gloss I was looking for. no sealant yet obviously, as I haven't finished the hood yet, but I'm going with some blackfire wet diamond sealant

Wat brand u recommend to buy touch up paint? You wet sand by hand or a sander?

I block sanded it with megs unigrit 2000, followed up by 3000. the sand marks easily come out on single stage paint like this.

as for the touch-up paint, i always get it from the dealer and i give them the vin to look up the color code.

personally i would just keep the hood like that forever! hahah its something about 50/50 shots that i just love hahah. LOOKS AMAZING!!

EAD, you need to pick up some practice panels, products, and equipment and learn/practice how to do things before you're ready to be doing this work -- especially if you're intending to do it "professionally."

Brand of products/equipment means very little -- focus more on learning and practicing the right technique, then you can adapt it to any setup you've got.

Yes! That looks amazingly clear!

Single Stage Black > All Else

man that is a crazy 50/50. I am so impressed by all the members on this forum. You all do amazing work. I wish I had the resources/time to make detailing my full-time job. No greater satisfaction than seeing the results from your own 2 hands :)

Great job! Be careful when working on the other side though, you might fall in....those black pools can get DEEP! Haha

Thanks dude. Should have some overall/finished shots once I finish sanding the hood ones more in the spots i filled in and buff it once more.
