I have a 7 year old son who has loved all things automotive since he could talk. He gets to see all the nice cars dad works on, and usually talks his way into sitting in any cool ride he sees when we are out and about.( he got to sit in a $250k Ferrari a few months ago).

I have a client that I have known for a while, who picked up a very neglected, low-mile 97 30th anniversary Z28 and brought it to me to put some life back into it.

When he dropped it off, he said "I know your kid is a car guy, take him out and show him some fun before you start working on it". I asked him if he was serious 3 or 4 times, and he said "papers are in the glove box and there is the traction control override button".

So I took my boy out, and we had a short, but spirited ride in in a manual six speed muscle car.

He had a ball! He was giggling almost as much as I was. When we got home he asked how come my jeep just kind of goes a little faster when I push the gas, and the camaro made it so he couldn't lean forward.

We both got to have a really cool treat thanks to a generous person, and I figured I would share. Needless to say, his car is going to get some extra attention while it's in my care.
Pics and a review of some products coming soon.

Oh, yeah. Moral of the story: get your kids addicted to cars early, they will NEVER have money for drugs

Haha, that's awesome!

My three year old boy is already car crazy, it will fun nurturing the passion.

Happy to hear such great father and son moment he will enjoy and remember all these times for sure

HaHa! from when my son was about 5yrs old I would have him be my co-pilot during auto x. Great thing is I could just about run the course in 1st gear in the Vette and we never really got going terribly fast but in auto x it always feels much faster. He would giggle all morning.

Good times man!

That's great! A core memory you're boy will strive to share with his kids one day

My boy is five and I am looking forward to doing these memories with him when he ready

My dad got me interested in cars since I was little . Now I'm a senior in high school and I have spent my prom ticket money for the mystery box.

Good thing I got about 2 months to Make that money back before prom!
