Not any pefore pics but it was by no means in bad shape. Just light swirls and a little gritty.

Washed 2 buckets.
Clayed using 3M perfect it
IPA wiped to remove any clay lube
3m green tape
Dewalt Rotary white CCS 6' pad around 12-1700 rpm(4 passes a panel paint was really hard on this car) With SRC Finishing polish.
Dewalt Rotary Red CCS 6' pad and 600-1200 rpm(1-2 passes BLING) Src Finishing polish.
Foamed and washed again followed by heavy IPA just to make sure it was dialed
BFWD

Yea, but most of these German cars take 7 to 11 quarts of pure synthetic oil and only need to changed every 2 years or so(depending on milleage too).

What kind of oil do they use? I use Neo synthetic, which lasts 25,000 miles, and is $14 a quart. That is $70 plus tax on the oil. Of course, because it doesn't need to be changed as often, it saves time and labor on changing it, so it is worth the additional cost, in addition to providing superior protection to most oils. Last I checked, it had 10% more film strength than Red Line and 50% more than Mobil 1.

Honestly I dont know, but when I checked BMW they told me the specs and some guys on the oil forum said that is very very close to German Spec Castrol.

Europe has very very strict standards on Oil, so it does cost more. But being a Merc or BMW there will always be a premium.

BMW uses Castrol 10-30 Synthetic, nothing special about it, they have a deal with castrol so thats what they use. Most BMW's use 6-7qts and burn 1qt. between oil changes. Intervals on the new bimmers is 10k miles. And BTW its the easiest car to change oil on. But never mind BMW is maintenance cost free until warranty runs out anyway unlike MB where you have to purchase maintenance plan :)

About changing your oil every 25k miles....I wouldnt do it, maybe the oil is fine for that long, but want about filter???

Back on topic, that one sexy beast! Great job!

Sweet detail and photography. +1 for the forgotten rotary!
