Gotta admit, not too impressed with AG Foam Gun

The foam gun is designed mostly for a presoak. The foam will loosen and soften most loose dirt and contamination and will "pull" a lot of it down to drip off the car with the foam. Otherwise you will rub the dirt and contaminants all over your car, which is not a good thing. Put a couple of oz. of soap in your foam gun then fill the rest up with water(put water in first, then soap), then shake up the mixture. Turn the foam gun on and watch the foam as it pulls the dirt down and soften(presoaks) the rest of the vehicle for ease of washing. You will most likely need to use a bucket wash to wash your car(recommend 2 bucket method----one for washing, one with water for rinsing) as well as a grit guard in both buckets. The foam gun, two bucket wash method, and grit guards are designed for one thing----to prevent swirls from being introduced to your finish by washing. Also recommend using a leaf blower, cobra guzzler, and a quick detailer as a "lube" to aid in drying without introducing swirls. Once again, I don't think the foam gun was designed to spray foam on your car, then immediately start washing it with a mitt.

On another note:

I've had a foam gun for a while (an older one I had from work called a Gilmour Gun, same thing) and the top didn't have the adjustment for how much soap was introduced. This was a problem because it used a TON of soap. I had the gun and all I needed was the adjustment bar. Well, I PM'd Meghan and asked if I could buy the piece needed to make my foam gun more functional. She said she'd look to see if there was one "laying around" that she could help me out with. Well, a few days later I got a UPS box and inside of it was the entire top of a foam gun, minus the extention which I already had. I was floored to say the least and I owe her a BIG THANK YOU! She came through for me big time as she always does and I have to say I've washed my car several times with the foam gun and it works PERFECTLY-------I absolutely love it! Makes washing a lot easier. So, THANK YOU to Meghan for going the "extra mile" for me-----very much appreciated and thought it should be mentioned----You're fantastic:righton:

Meghans been known to do a little something special for our forum members when needed. If you love her send her jewelry, cars, boats, donuts, or cheesecake !

Definatly keep the Foam gun for presoak purposes! I have a cannon on the way and I am still going to keep the gun! Keep trying different soaps and mixtures! I personally use CG Citrus Wash and Gloss.

OrangeZ taught me a little trick to increase the foam a little by filling the container with hot warm water and shaking it.

Yes, I concur. If you want foam, foam, and more foam, then the pressure washer foam cannon/gun works best. I don't even touch my paint with a mitt any longer using a foam cannon. Faom, rinse, then Auquawax. Whoa what a shine.
