Graphic Design help for an amateur?

I wouldn't worry about designing anything

Wordpress has a bunch of nice templates that are basically plug-n-play

Business cards can also be template based when you're STARTING off

Don't get caught up in the small things

Get people to give you money for your services. That's what matters:dblthumb2:

Hello I was interested in wordpresss as well how does wordpress function and is the a free sample version or you have to purchase and is fiverr.com any good?

I use photoshop. After waiting over a month for my brother, who is a graphics artist, to make me a logo I downloaded Photoshop and taught my self. Took about a week before I got it all down.

Hey guys wondering what programs you use to do graphic design for things like your business cards, websites, flyers, brochures, etc? Yeah I know I could pay someone, but with the need to do changes often, multiple types of things needing designed, and so on it's just not feasible to be able to pay someone at this stage. I am computer savy, but graphic design is definitely not my thing so I have no clue where to start or knowledge so pointers?

I started out using Photoshop but recently switched over to Illustrator due to vectors being more adaptable to sizing. It's s little tough to start out but I watch a lot of youtube videos and follow along. As I learn things I make adjustments to what I am designing. I am amazed at what can be done with that program if you know what you are doing, which I don't, lol.

Vistaprint is good for business cards. I just took one of their cards with a background I liked and changed everything else on it.

Wordpress is more of the back end of a website. Wordpress itself is free. The website is a theme you download. There are tons of free themes as well as themes you pay for. Wordpress actually comes with a few themes loaded. Check out their website. Make sure you go to the .org and not the .com.

All the major web hosts will have wordpress available in the c panel for you to load onto your hosted server. Then it's just pick the theme you want and go through and change or add things.
