I've been scanning over the forum for a few years now. I've always enjoyed keeping my cars/trucks clean, but never ventured into the buffing/polishing territory. I bought a PC 7424XP a couple of years back, but never used it because I felt a little intimidated by the whole process. Well this past weekend I finally decided to give it a shot. I worked on my dad's 2005 Ford 500. He's had the car since new and taken decent care of it, but it has never seen the first coat of any kind of protectant. There was a ton of swirls like you would imagine on a car nearly ten years old and also some areas like the door handles and gas cap where finger nails have continually hit when opening. I used Meguairs 105 w/ CCS orange pade for the swirls and scratches, 205 w/ white pad for finishing, and I protected it with Colinite 845.

This was my first go at it and I really enjoyed the process and the finished product. I look forward to learning more from you all.

Looks good! Where in Alabama you located?
