I would like to formally let it be know I will NEVER own another black car. :nomore:

I'm sure that sentence alone sums up why I ventured onto this forum.

I look forward to absorbing all that I can from you veteran and professional detailers.

My biggest problem would be that I drive on dirt roads quite often and wax simply does not hold up to that. After a few weeks my car ends up looking like neglected barn find.

So I'm looking to find a paint sealant that will hold up to severe punishment a wax that I could lay on top to help keep some shine.

So far it seems I'll be trying G-techniq with the evo apllied over the c1 then of course a good wax to sop it all off. I use mothers california gold carnuba wax.

Unless some of you may know of something that will be much stronger than that.

Anyways I really enjoy seeing some of the amazing work you guys do. :dblthumb2:

All the best, Alex

Seems like menzerna sealant is pretty good still gtechc2v3 decent...but seemed like menz was better

Thank you for your input, I have seem many people using the "menz" abbreviation and I had no clue what they were talking about

Now that I think of it a lot of people seem to like this "menz" products, How does it hold up over time?

Should I reapply every few months or years?

I am definitely willing to sacrifice luster for durability.

WOW looks like you guys have a world wide crowd here, it must be cold in germany.

Also, maybe you want to consider a coating as opposed to a sealant?
You can always put a sealant or wax over a coating, if you'd like.

Menzerna sealant is a good product. If you are looking for a durable wax for over it you might want to try Collinite 476.

I'm an almost Floridian. A fly down to New Port Richey a few times a year to visit my parents and detail my father's Buick (what else).

Welcome from Enterprise, just north of you. I agree on the coating. Expensive but will hold up. The key to the results will be your prep and cleaning first. How is the paint now, swirls, issues?

A coating is used in place of was, there are a bunch sold here at AG and tons of reviews. Basically it is a clear liquid that your apply to a clean finish and it seals it and give a killer shine. It also doesn't leave a wax residue or white wax in every crack and crevice on the car. There are claims made that a coat will last 2 years. Do a thread search for "coatings" or "Black Label".

I live out in the woods too and this works great form me. Have it on for about 4 months now and it is holding up great.

Something else I found was Tuf Shine Tire Clearcoat. It holds up great and because it dries hard nothing sticks to it when you drive down the road.
TUF SHINE Tire Clearcoat, tuf shine tire dressing, permanent tire shine, permanent tire sealant

She is no where near ready to receive a finishing detail haha

I just repainted the front clip and passenger door a few weeks ago, WHAT A DISASTER!
There was way too much humidity so over night the clear became slightly distorted, no big deal just need to cut and buff.

There are a bunch of little dents all over the rest of the car so a respray is in order also had a little incident with the drivers quarter panel.

I've been putting it off for a few weeks now, I find it hard to wake up in the morning and get excited about doing bondo haha

Thank you for your first hand experience I am going to look into that. I like the idea of that tire coating, dirty tires really kills the over all look.
