I recently took delivery of a Pitch Black 2015 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack.

This new muscle car is the first I've owned since my 1980 Camaro Z28 was sold to help pay for college. Before that, I briefly owned a 1968 Pontiac GTO; "briefly" because the crankshaft failed 4 days after I bought it. Hubris - I thought I knew more about cars than I actually did.

With that lesson still in my head after all these years, and since I haven't owned a black car since 1993 (a 1986 BMW 325 iX), I formally joined here after lurking for a while to ensure I never allow myself to think I know more about car detailing than I do...

...this site is very humbling due to the depth and breadth of knowledge to be found here, so please excuse any "newbie" questions I may pose.

You've come to the right place for guidance. Welcome to AGO!

Welcome to AGO !!!! Congrats on the new car. It looks like a beast !!!

Thanks. That she is, a beast. I came of driving age just after the first muscle car era; while I never owned one, I've driven plenty, and for all the nostalgia the originals envoke...

...they have absolutely NOTHING on the cars today in terms of power, speed or handling, not to mention all the creature comforts these new cars have.

And the paint! While Dodge's paint doesn't have the best reputation, my car came home pretty clean; no paint defects, only a very few marrings of the clear.

This weekend is "clay bar and polish" weekend for me and Renny.

:welcome: To Autogeek Online! :props:

What a gorgeous challenger!!
